摘要: A housing assembly for a rotary engine, has: a rotor housing extending around an axis, the rotor housing having an inner face facing a rotor cavity; side housings secured to opposite sides of the rotor housing, the rotor cavity bounded axially between the side housings; and a seal received within a groove at an interface between the rotor housing and a first side housing, the groove annularly extending around the axis, located outwardly of the inner face, and overlapping a peripheral section of the first side housing, the seal having: an elastomeric member compressed between the peripheral section and the rotor housing; and a shield disposed inwardly of the elastomeric member, the shield having a melting point above a temperature of combustion gases, the shield in contact with both of the peripheral section of the first side housing and the rotor housing.

摘要: Rotary vane internal combustion engine comprises of two rotors, nested in each other, placed in a cylindrical housing, wherein each rotor has at least two radial vanes rigidly attached to the rotor that form chambers for intake, compression, combustion, and exhaust. Each rotor, alternately engages with a shaft by overrunning one-way clutches and held from turning back, through the cushioning mechanisms, mounted on flywheels, which are rigidly attached on the shaft, wherein the assembled rotors from the outside are rigidly closed by flanges on each of which is mounted at least one blade, which are placed into formed cavity between rotors and caps of the housing thereby forming two cooling chambers through which coolant circulates around rotors through openings in the housing and through longitudinal grooves in the shaft. On the vanes mounted cylindrical and conical seals that exclude the need for lubrication.

摘要: A rotary engine casing having at least one end wall of an internal cavity for a rotor including a seal-engaging plate sealingly engaging the peripheral wall to partially seal the internal cavity and a member mounted adjacent the seal-engaging plate outside of the internal cavity. The member and seal-engaging plate having abutting mating surfaces which cooperate to define between them at least one fluid cavity communicating with a source of liquid coolant. When the casing includes a plurality of rotor housings, the end wall may be between rotor housings. A method of manufacturing a rotary engine casing is also discussed.

摘要: An arrangement of a cooling medium pump of a rotary piston internal combustion engine of trochoidal-type of construction with a fluid or liquid cooled housing, with which the cooling medium is conveyed first in common and parallel through cooling hollow chambers of the casing mantle part and of a side part in a common hollow chamber and from there is conveyed by way of a cooling medium pump into another side part and from there via a thermostat into a cooler arranged on the other side part and from there it is returned into the cooling medium circulation in the housing. The cooling medium pump is arranged in the casing mantle part and a propeller or impeller thereof is arranged in a cooling hollow chamber of the other side part. A speed of rotation control regulator is arranged on a shaft of the cooling medium pump for fresh air supply and a lubricating oil pump also can be arranged on a butt end of this shaft.

摘要: A rotary engine has a substantially trochoidal-shaped housing cavity in which a rotor planetates. A cooling system for the engine directs coolant along a single series path consisting of series connected groups of passages. Coolant enters near the intake port, passes downwardly and axially through the cooler regions of the engine, then passes upwardly and axially through the hotter regions. By first flowing through the coolest regions, coolant pressure is reduced, thus reducing the saturation temperature of the coolant and thereby enhancing the nucleate boiling heat transfer mechanism which predominates in the high heat flux region of the engine during high power level operation.
