Abstract: A carrier component for a ceiling system and/or a ceiling system that includes the carrier component. The carrier component may include a body portion that extends along a first longitudinal axis and a plurality of support members that extend from the body portion in a spaced apart manner. Each of the support members may extend along a second longitudinal axis. Each of the support members may include a distal end, first and second ledges located on opposite sides of the second longitudinal axis, and third and fourth ledges located on opposite sides of the second longitudinal axis, the first and second ledges being closer to the distal end of the support members than the third and fourth ledges. One or more ceiling panels may be coupled to the carrier component via engagement with the first and second ledges or the third and fourth ledges of the support members.

Abstract: An end cap for a ceiling panel of a ceiling system. The end cap includes a face plate having an inner surface, a bottom edge, a top edge, a first side edge, and a second side edge. A first insertion plate extends from the inner surface of the face plate at the top edge of the face plate. A second insertion plate extends from the inner surface of the face plate at the bottom edge of the face plate. A concealment portion extends from the inner surface of the face plate along the first and second side edges of the face plate. The concealment portion may include an upper section positioned above the first insertion plate and spaced from the first insertion plate by a first gap and a lower section of positioned below the second insertion plate and spaced from the second insertion plate by a second gap.

Abstract: The invention relates to a textile structure, intended to be used as a sound-absorbing structure in acoustic ceiling panels and/or acoustic wall panels, consisting of (a) a nonwoven mat of glass fibers bound by a thermoset binder, the nonwoven mat having a surface density of between 20 and 200 g/m2 and (b) a continuous acoustic layer comprising from 80% to 95% by weight of particles, preferably mineral particles, and from 5% to 20% by weight of a thermoplastic polymer and/or elastomer binder, the textile structure having an open porosity of greater than 3%, preferably between 4% and 60%, and a static airflow resistance (determined according to the standard ISO 9053) of between 1000 and 3000 N·s·m−3, said continuous acoustic layer at least partially impregnating said nonwoven mat, and the particle size distribution of the particles having a D10 of between 0.1 and 0.5 μm. It also relates to a process for manufacturing such a textile structure and to a ceiling panel or wall panel coated on one of these faces with such a textile structure.

Abstract: Ceiling tiles for drop ceilings and drop ceilings with such tiles are disclosed. The ceiling tiles have a main portion that is sized and adapted to fit within a grid of the drop ceiling, and a baffle that hangs down from the main portion. The ceiling tiles may be arranged such that they can be made, shipped, and sold in a flat configuration and folded into a three-dimensional configuration with the down-hanging baffle for installation. For example, a sheet of tile material may have a plurality of fold lines defined in it that allow the sheet to fold in such a way as to define the main portion and the baffle. In the flat configuration, the sheet of tile material may have the dimensions of a standard drop ceiling tile; in the folded configuration, the ceiling tiles may also have standard ceiling-tile dimensions.

Abstract: A ceiling structure includes a suspended framework having a plurality of main runners and a plurality of cross runners interconnected to define an array of tile receiving openings, each of the plurality of main runners and the plurality of cross runners including a tile mating surface facing downward to define a mounting frame at each respective tile receiving opening, and a plurality of ceiling tiles positioned within the array of tile receiving openings, each of the plurality of ceiling tiles having a main body. The main body of the ceiling tile includes a base having a periphery, a plurality of magnets positioned at the periphery and sized and shaped to magnetically couple the ceiling tile within a respective one of the tile receiving openings, and a plurality of baffles coupled to the base, each baffle being spaced apart from the other. Related methods, systems, and ceiling tiles are also provided.

Abstract: A straight beam made for use in a suspended horizontal drywall ceiling. The beam is modified so that it can be bent in multiple directions to multiple predetermined angles. The beam has a web connecting two top flanges to two bottom flanges. A notch in the web extends through either the top or bottom flanges dividing the beam into a first side and a second side. The first side and the second side may each contain a pocket angled away from an outward face of the web forming a cutout having a locking edge and optionally a protuberance projecting out in the same direction as the pocket. Furthermore, the first side and the second side may optionally each contain an indentation projecting outward from the web in a direction opposite the spring pocket. As a result, when the beam is bent to the desired predetermined angle the locking edge or indentation may engage with the protuberance locking the angle in place. A soffit may then be constructed with drywall hung therefrom.
