摘要: Dispensing apparatus are well known for dispensing material from a package. Described herein is apparatus for dispensing predetermined amounts of material (10, 10') stored in vessels (12) carried by a continuous web (14). Each vessel (12) comprises a body portion (15) and a cap portion (16) with one end (22) of a pressure sensitive strip (24) positioned therebetween, the other end (26) of strip (24) being attached to the continuous web (14). The apparatus comprises a roller (28) over which the web (14) moves. Tightening of the strip (24) as the web (14) passes over the roller (28) causes the body portion (15) of the vessel (12) to become detached from the cap portion (16) and the material (10') is released.

摘要: A robotic kitting apparatus takes parts bags containing electronic components and places the bags in appropriate kit boxes for use in assembling electronic products. Each parts bag has a bar coded allocation tag that is read by a bar scanner. A computer controls a claw machine that picks up the parts bag from a conveyer belt and moves it to a kit box requiring that parts bag.

摘要: Rows of ten filled hypodermic syringes, without rods and in depending position, are transferred successively from ten-row trays to a rail conveyor by a gang chuck having ten expansible inserts which enter and lift the syringes by their open piston ends. The trays are supported by a loading table which is moved stepwise and shifted to successively align offset rows of syringes with the gang chuck.

摘要: A machine loads and unloads containers with articles arranged in rows by transferring articles between a first station outside the containers and a second station inside a container. It comprises a vertical support adjacent the first and second stations and an arm on this support which pivots through 90.degree. C. between a first position over the first station and a second position over the second station. Chains around four pulleys on the arm are paid out and wound in synchronously by the rotation of the pulleys. The chains extend to one end of the arm and then downwardly through respective apertures in the arm. The chains are attached to a platform moveable vertically which carries suckers for manipulating the articles, through chain tension detector and centering means on the platform which operate with the platform in its highest position. Further chain tension detector means on the path of the chains monitor the tension in the chains.

摘要: A bucket system incorporating a tilting mechanism comprises a pair of horizontal arms each provided integrally with a pair of stanchions having an arcuate bend in the upper portion thereof and having one or more pulleys disposed at the leading end of the arcuately bent upper portion, a bucket rotatably fastened to the pair of horizontal arms, and a pair of cables fastened at one end thereof to the lower end of the rear side of the bucket, passed over the pulleys on the stanchions, and again fastened at the other end thereof to a stationary mast on the fork lift, whereby elevation of the two-pronged platform of the fork lift whose two prongs are inserted into and held within the pair of horizontal arms causes the cables to stretch to their full length and thereby draw up the lower end of the rear side of the bucket so as to tilt the bucket as a whole and de-elevation of the two-pronged platform from its elevated position causes the bucket to return to its original horizontal position.

摘要: An apparatus for orienting moving bottles in successive fashion from a first random open-end leading disposition to an open-end trailing position and maintaining the orientation of bottles in an open-end trailing disposition includes two pairs of spaced endless movable belts, one of the belt pairs being stepped above the other belt pair in overlapping relationship. In one embodiment of the invention, a pivot member that attachably engages a leading open-end of the bottle and avoids attachable engagement with a leading closed end of the bottle helps distinguish the random dispositions of the bottles. After the bottles have been oriented they are dispensed in successive fashion to an output means for further processing. In another embodiment of the invention the pivot member is replaced by a pair of cam members spaced in the direction of movement of the bottles. A further embodiment of the invention requires only one pair of spaced endless movable belts.

摘要: An apparatus for automatically receiving empty bottles and storing them in an internal container includes a mechanism which discriminates against improperly sized bottles and also returns the monetary deposit which may have been made at the time of purchase of the full bottle. The apparatus includes a bottle conveyor mechanism which accepts bottles in a horizontal position on sprocket discs and, after suitable actuation of door-locking and dimension-checking switches, rotates the discs and transports the bottle upwardly. The positive insertion of the transported bottle into the bottle storage container above causes a realignment of the bottles already stored there. The stored bottles align themselves in parallel layers until a limit switch prevents further operation when the container is filled up.

摘要: A package and a method of safely packaging rigid containers, such as glass bottles, in a carton without using inner partitions to separate the containers. The containers are placed on a bottom wall of a corrugated or similar paperboard carton blank so as to occupy substantially fully the area thereof. The vertical wall portions of the blank are then brought to bear snugly against said containers and to squeeze the containers against each other. Then sufficient force is applied against the package walls so that they are indented by the containers that bear against them. Top wall portions of the carbon blank are then brought to a horizontal position and are pressed down on the containers until both the top wall portions and the bottom wall are indented by the containers, and the walls are then secured together.
