Abstract:
Among a plurality of synchronous control programs each configured to include a plurality of output software modules with respect to one driving software module, a synchronous control program of a multi-axis configuration, in which driving software modules are coupled together into a same axis, is displayed on one screen. On this display screen, display is switched between a parameter setting screen, status information on respective software modules, and a waveform graph of the driving software module and the output software modules, in order to enable work ranging from software designing to debugging to be efficiently performed.
Abstract:
A plate workpiece processing tool includes a first tool portion and a second tool portion. The first and second tool portions are arranged along an application axis in spaced relation to each other such that a plate workpiece can be disposed therebetween. The tool also includes two or more processing devices that are carried by the first tool portion, and one or more counter-devices that are carried by the second tool portion. The processing devices are rotatable, relative to the first tool portion, about a first rotational axis that extends perpendicular to the application axis and are arranged to follow each other along an axis extending perpendicularly to the application axis. The processing devices and the one or more counter-devices are selectively alignable to form a plurality of alternative device pairings for processing plate workpieces therebetween.
Abstract:
An axis changeover apparatus according to the invention changes axes of movement of a machine tool having axes with the same direction of movement, such as a cross rail axis and quill axis. A check is performed to determine the commanded strokes along axes (Z and W axes) from machining commands supplied by an NC command tape (1). If a move command has a commanded stroke which exceeds a set limit stroke value, the portion of the commanded stroke which exceeds the value is converted into a commanded stroke along the other axis having the same direction of movement, thereby elongating the apparent stroke.
Abstract:
A numerical control system in which a numerical control device is adapted to control a machine tool equipped with a plurality of tables, as one example, on which workpieces may be secured to be machined by a tool mounted on a head. A table which is not being controlled automatically by the numerical control device can be operated independently of the automatic operation network of the numerical control device and placed in a manual operation mode or manual data input mode in which the table can be moved manually even while the numerical control device controls the other table or tables automatically.
Abstract:
Methods and apparatus relating to either point-to-point or contouring control of the movable members of a machine tool, wherein two or more of such members are movable along a common axis relative to a base. In order to accept end-point commands numerically expressed in part coordinates along the common axis with reference to an origin in fixed relation to a workpiece or part mounted on the first such member, even though the servo controls or actual positioning operations can only act to bring the two members to positions measured in base coordinates with reference to a second origin fixed in relation to the base, a first signaled number representing the desired position of the second member in base coordinates is subtracted from a second signaled number representing the desired position, in part coordinates, for the first member. Such subtraction creates a changeable signaled third number representing the base coordinate positions to which the first member is to be moved under servo control. When the second member is moved, its displacement from one position to the next is added to the aforesaid first and second numbers, so that the third number does not change but the first number does change to provide a numerical representation of the base coordinate position to which the second member will be moved under its servo control.

Abstract:
An operation of a processing machine with redundant actuators is controlled according to a reference trajectory by selecting, from a set of points forming a segment of the reference trajectory to be processed for a period of time, a subset of points corresponding to a fraction of the period of time. The subset of points is selected such that the redundant actuators are capable to position the worktool at each point in the subset within the period of time and are capable to maintain the worktool at the last point of the subset after the period of time while satisfying constraints on motion of the redundant actuators. The segment of the reference trajectory is modified in the time domain and the control inputs for controlling the motion of the redundant actuators are determined using the modified segment of the reference trajectory.
Abstract:
In a numerical control device for performing a control axis switch, each of a plurality of control axis units includes an axis movement amount conversion unit configured to convert a movement amount of a servo motor into a movement amount corresponding to each of the control axis units of the plurality of control axis units, an axis position data storage unit, and a control object axis position data storage unit configured to store an axis position of a control object at a time when the control object is separated from a single drive unit, and an axis position stored in the axis position data storage unit is configured to be updated by using the movement amount of the servo motor, regardless of whether or not the control object is connected by a control axis switch unit to the control axis unit.
Abstract:
A controller structure for more than two drive units coupled mechanically to a movable element includes a position measuring device for determining an actual position of the movable element and a position controller for calculating a setpoint speed from a setpoint position and the actual position, the position measuring device and the position controller jointly serving all drive units. Each drive unit, however, has a speed controller of its own. The drive units are configured either as master or as slave, individual drive units also being able to assume both functions. A torque-master-slave controller ensures a compensation of the torques between the drive units.
