摘要:
New forms of suppressive gunfire decoys are provided. In some aspects, a pin-pull device may be used to program and adjust several settings of the decoy devices, activating such devices immediately before deployment. In some aspects, the pin-pull device may serve as a remote control unit. In a preferred method of deployment, the devices are thrown to a location different from that occupied by the user(s), simulating another source of gunfire, distracting and misleading an enemy, and providing the effects of suppressive fire. In some embodiments, a networked computer system(s) may be used as a remote control unit, and the decoy device may include cameras and other sensors for tactical surveillance. In still other aspects, the gunfire decoy device may be capable of locomotion, and may be self-relocating in response to certain commands, or in reaction to stimuli, to confuse the enemy regarding sources of gunfire and troop locations.

A large-caliber gun integrated into a military ship and mounted with the turret and the weapons system of an armored howitzer. Disposed below the turret body portion is a shell magazine in which is installed a shell transporter that grasps the shells and supplies them to a shell-raising mechanism, by means of which the shells are conveyed from the shell magazine into the turret body portion. A shell transfer arm, pivotably mounted on the trunnion of the weapon, carries at one end a charger that in the raised position of the shell transfer arm is aligned with the gun bore axis of the weapon, and in the lowered position is aligned with the direction of movement of the shell-raising mechanism. The shells are introduced from the shell-raising mechanism directly into the charger and after pivoting-up of the shell transferring arm are supplied to the weapon.

An ammunition magazine for beltless fed ammunition is disclosed. The magazine includes at least one endlessly guided ammunition guide chain to transport ammunition, and a chain tightener to tighten the ammunition guide chain with a predetermined chain tension. The chain tightener carries out a clamping movement in the direction of tightening to increase the chain tension and carries out a clamping movement against the direction of tightening to reduce the chain tension. To prevent slack from developing, (for example, during acceleration of the ammunition guide chain), the chain tightener is provided with a brake to influence the spring constant of the chain tightener as a function of the direction of tightening and the speed of the clamping movement.

Cartridges (5) are guided during a loading phase shortly before reaching the automatic cannon (1) onto a first track, which differs from the conveying direction of the conveyor chain (14) and are guided at a greater distance from the revolving drum (13) around the shaft (15) of the revolving drum, and conveyed on. In a firing phase, the cartridges (5) are guided shortly before reaching the automatic cannon (1) onto a second track, which differs from the conveying direction of the conveyor chain (14), are guided around the shaft (15) of the revolving drum (13), and are sequentially brought into a firing position directly behind the revolving drum. After having been fired and ejected, the empty cartridge cases (6) are caught and are transported on the first track into a magazine (4).

A handling system for brass shell casings in an ammunition handling system. A shaft has a first sprocket and first hub and a non-circular gear mounted thereto, and because of the non-circular gear, rotates at a variable speed when driven by a power source. A second hub, coaxial with the shaft and rotatable independently of the shaft, has a second sprocket and a circular gear mounted thereto, and because of the circular gear, rotates at a selected speed when driven by the power source. The speed of the first sprocket varies between being equal to the speed of the second sprocket to being less than the speed of the second sprocket so that one end of a shell casing mounted on the two sprockets first lags behind the other end of the shell casing, then catches up to the other end of the shell casing.
