摘要: A method of constructing buildings of modules is disclosed in which the modules are formed of overhead and wall panels fabricated with means embedded therein having no portion extending beyond the boundaries thereof for distributing the weight thereof to a plurality of points spaced from each other along their edges, which edges are mechanically interconnected by removable hinge joinder means extending between the embedded means in adjacent panels when they are in selected juxtaposition. Means for raising the overhead panels to an elevated position including said removable hinge joinder means are described. Preferred means for forming the overhead and wall panels in the selected juxtaposition and preferred removable hinge joinder means are disclosed. Preferred methods and means for interconnecting vertically and horizontally adjacent modules into structural units of the final building structure before or after removal of said removable hinge joinder means are described.

摘要: Disclosed are various construction techniques for erecting a multistory building with an elevator shaft. In accordance with the method, upper and lower shaft components are formed at an offsite facility. These shaft components are then joined together to form a segment of the larger elevator shaft. Once constructed, the segment is transported to a jobsite and erected. Once an individual segment is installed, a floor slab can be formed about the segment. Using pre-cast elevator segments simplifies and expedites the construction process. In one embodiment, each segment includes a serrated edge that facilitates a connection between the floor slab and the shaft segment. Rebar and reinforcing dowels can also be used to improve the connection. Associated shaft constructions are also disclosed.

摘要: Precast concrete residences resist great hurricane wind forces and moderate seismic forces. The entire residential structure, excluding the slab on grade are made from plant-cast concrete panels. Foundation panel joints are designed at the center of the precast wall panels to assure proper load-distribution from the walls to the foundation. Using a precast foundation greatly increases the speed of construction. All structural elements are field-bolted together. An interior wall track design allows engineered, prefabricated interior wall panels to roll into the home and “tip up” into place without wedging between the floor and ceiling.
