Abstract: A golf club head has a main body including a top portion, a bottom portion opposite the top portion, a striking face, a rear portion opposite the striking face. The striking face has a striking face plane and a striking face outer periphery that is coplanar with the striking face plane. The striking face outer periphery has an outer periphery heel portion, an outer periphery toe portion opposite the outer periphery heel portion, an outer periphery top portion, and an outer periphery bottom portion opposite the outer periphery top portion. The striking face also has a recess extending rearward from the striking face plane, and the recess includes a recess periphery coplanar with the striking face plane. The striking face further has an insert disposed within the recess. The striking face additionally has a minimum periphery width separating the striking face outer periphery and the recess periphery. The periphery width is no greater than 1.25 mm.

Abstract: A golf club head has a body having a ball striking face, a rear opposite the ball striking face, a crown, a sole, a heel, and a toe, the body having a void defined by a peripheral edge on the sole. The body further defines a cover that extends over the void and forms at least a portion of the crown. At least a portion of the peripheral edge of the void includes a lip extending from the peripheral edge inwardly into the void. The golf club head may additionally or alternately include one or more weight receptacles connected to the sole and having an opening in the sole, such that each weight receptacle is configured to receive insertion of a weight through the opening.

Abstract: A golf club head or other ball striking device includes a face having a striking surface and being defined by an outer periphery, a body connected to the face and extending rearwardly from the outer periphery, the body having a sole configured to face a playing surface and a crown opposite the sole, and an inwardly recessed channel extending across at least a portion of the sole of the body, where the channel is elongated between a heel portion and a toe portion. The heel portion and the toe portion of the channel are spaced rearwardly approximately equal distances from the outer periphery of the face, and a center portion of the channel is spaced a greater distance from the outer periphery of the face than the heel portion and the toe portion. The channel may be bowed or curved away from the face.
