Abstract:
Devices and systems for performing contactless payments. The devices are configured such that account issuers have increased flexibility, and such that the systems and methods are extensible to encompass new technologies.
Abstract:
Pre-paid negotiable instruments are issued in response to a request at a host system from the holder of a stored-value account. The request is made through an IVR system or a web interface, and the host allocates funds from the account and provides a balance remaining after the negotiable instrument is issued. The instrument is printed with a transaction number or other identifier at an issuing system, and is then sent to the account holder. The account holder activates the instrument after receipt. The payee receives the instrument and authorizes the instrument by providing the transaction number or identifier to the host. When authorized, payment is guaranteed to the payee from the issuer.
Abstract:
According to one embodiment of the invention, a system is provided for activating a plurality of cards. An activation indicator can be provided to an activation system to process the activation of the plurality of cards. If approved, the activation system transmits a message to the POS device indicating the activation.
Abstract:
Embodiments of the disclosure relate to systems and methods for managing accounts associated with a proxy. In one embodiment, a method can include receiving a merchant ID associated with a merchant from either a user interface or a point of sale device associated with the merchant. The method can include receiving proxy information associated with a proxy from either the user interface or the point of sale device associated with the merchant. Further, the method can include determining a payment account associated with both the merchant and the proxy, based at least in part on the merchant ID or the proxy information, the payment account having a balance and selected from an account database. The method can include transmitting payment information associated with the payment account to either the user interface or the point of sale device, based at least in part on the merchant ID or the proxy information.
Abstract:
Embodiments of the invention provide systems and methods for authenticating mobile device communications. A mobile device to which a message will be communicated may be identified. Based upon a shared secret between a service provider and the mobile device, a payload authentication code (“PAC”) may be generated, and the generated PAC may be associated with a payload for the message. The message and the generated PAC may then be communicated to the mobile device, and the mobile device may be configured to utilize the shared secret to verify the PAC and authenticate the message. In certain embodiments, the operations of the method may be performed by one or more computers associated with the service provider.
Abstract:
Embodiments of the invention can provide systems and methods for device provisioning. According to one example embodiment of the invention, a method can be provided. The method can include identifying, from a computer-readable memory, provisioning information associated with a device; attaching the provisioning information to an item; and preparing the item to be sent to a location of the associated device, wherein the device is provisioned based at least in part on the item. In certain embodiments, one or more operations can be performed by one or more computers associated with a service provider.
Abstract:
Various of the disclosed embodiments consider systems and methods for the sender of a printed or electronic greeting card to attach one or more virtual or electronic gift cards to that printed or electronic greeting card, so that the recipient of the greeting card can subsequently retrieve and redeem the attached gift cards electronically. Thus, some of the disclosed embodiments provide a system for automating the giving and receiving of electronic gift cards via the medium of the greeting card itself.
Abstract:
Embodiments of the invention provide systems and methods for authenticating mobile devices. Device identifying information may be received for a mobile device. A base level key may also be communicated to the mobile device. The base level key may be utilized by the mobile device to derive unique transaction specific keys to encrypt subsequent communications output by the mobile device. A communication encrypted with a unique transaction specific key may be received from the mobile device. Based at least in part upon the device identifying information and the base level key, a derived key may be generated, and the derived key may be utilized to decrypt the received communication and authenticate the mobile device. In certain embodiments, the above operations may be performed by one or more computers associated with a service provider.

Abstract:
Advanced card machines and associated card merge methods are provided. A form may be provided from a first supply of forms to a first track that is configured to advance the form. A foldable payment card may be selected from a second supply of foldable payment cards, wherein the selection of the payment card does not result in the payment card being folded. The selected payment card may be advanced, without folding the payment card, along a second track to a position in which the payment card is supplied to the form Additionally, an adhesive may be applied to one of the form or the payment card, and the adhesive may attach the payment card to the form when the payment card is supplied to the form.
