    Abstract: A configuration determining method and apparatus, a terminal, and a network side device. The configuration determining method according to embodiments of this application includes: A terminal receives a first configuration from a first network side device; and the terminal obtains a second configuration based on the first configuration, where the second configuration is a signal configuration for sending a first signal by the terminal, the first signal is used to trigger a second network side device to switch from a first operating mode to a second operating mode, or trigger the second network side device to maintain a current operating mode, energy consumption of the second network side device in the first operating mode is lower than energy consumption of the second network side device in the second operating mode, and the current operating mode is either the first operating mode or the second operating mode.
