    Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a pre-5th-Generation (5G) or 5G communication system to be provided for supporting higher data rates Beyond 4th-Generation (4G) communication system such as Long Term Evolution (LTE). Embodiments herein provide a method for triggering a transmission of a UE-to-Network relay indication comprising receiving, by UE, one of UE-to-Network relay criteria broadcasted by a base station, measuring, at the UE, a link quality parameter between the UE and the base station, detecting, by the UE, that the link quality parameter meets the UE-to-Network relay criteria, and transmitting, by the UE, the UE-to-Network relay indication (i.e. discovery message indicating itself as the UE-to-Network relay) on a Device to Device (D2D) discovery channel.

    Abstract: A device to device (D2D) communication apparatus and method are provided. The D2D communication apparatus includes a transceiver configured to receive resource configuration information indicating D2D resources configured in a serving cell from a base station (BS) of the serving cell, and a controller configured to determine locations of resources for transmission or reception of signals for D2D communication based on the resource configuration information. The resource configuration information includes information about length of common D2D resources configured in a plurality of cells and additional D2D resources configured in the serving cell and information about length of common and additional D2D resources of a cell that configures maximum-sized additional D2D resources among the serving cell and neighboring cells.

    Abstract: Hybrid Automatic Repeat Request (HARQ) operation in an asymmetric multicarrier communication network environment is performed, in one embodiment, by receiving resource allocation information from a base station, transmitting the HARQ packet to the base station in a transmit time interval (TTI) corresponding a first or second partition of an uplink allocation interval on a second carrier, and receiving HARQ feedback information corresponding to a previous HARQ packet transmission. A TTI in a subsequent uplink allocation interval is determined based on the partition of the uplink allocation interval in which the HARQ packet is transmitted if the HARQ feedback information indicates negative acknowledgement. The HARQ packet is transmitted to the base station in the determined transmit time interval of the subsequent uplink allocation interval on the second carrier.

    Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a 5G or pre-5G communication system for supporting a higher data transmission rate than a 4G communication system such as LTE. The method for device to device communication according to the present disclosure comprises: a step of receiving, by a terminal, search data from search resources for relay search within a specified search-receiving resource pool, and decoding the same; a step of measuring, by the terminal, link qualities of the search resources which deliver demodulation reference signals, from the search resources corresponding to successfully decoded search data; and a step of filtering a link quality corresponding to an identifier of a specific relay among the measured link qualities.

    Abstract: A method and system signal resource allocation information in an asymmetric multicarrier communication network. A MS communicates with a BS using asymmetric carriers consisting of at least one low frequency carrier (e.g., primary carriers) in a cellular band and at least one high frequency carrier (e.g., secondary carriers) in a millimeter Wave band. In one embodiment, the BS allocates resources for one or more transmit time intervals in at least one of DL allocation interval of a secondary DL carrier and UL allocation interval of a secondary UL carrier for the MS, where the DL allocation interval spans one or more subframes of the secondary DL carrier and the UL allocation interval spans one or more subframes of the secondary UL carrier. The BS then transmits information regarding the allocated resources to the MS in a Packet Data Control Channel region of a subframe of the primary DL carrier.

According to an embodiment of the present disclosure, a method for allocating a resource in a communication system includes determining a beam to be used for data communication between a UE and the base station based on beam feedback information from the UE. The method also includes releasing resource allocation for a beam used previously depending on whether the determined beam is changed from the previously used beam, allocating a resource for the determined beam, and transmitting information related to the resource allocation for the determined beam to the UE.
