Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may distinguish between synchronization signal blocks (SSBs) intended for different classes of UEs. For example, a base station may transmit different SSBs in a physical broadcast channel with different configurations or parameters to indicate different UE classes, where UEs may monitor for and receive SSBs for their UE class. A UE may operate according to a UE class (e.g., New Radio (NR) Light) associated with lower bandwidths and may identify SSBs associated with this UE class to connect with a base station. The UE may identify the SSBs associated with the UE class based on a subcarrier-level offset value either implicitly or explicitly indicated to the UE. Additionally, the base station may transmit fields to indicate different parameters for subsequent communications transmitted according to the UE class.

Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure relate to a UE transmitting a request for a discontinuous reception (DRX) cycle of a first duration; receiving an indication that a DRX cycle having a second duration has been assigned to the UE by a core network component; receiving a system information block (SIB) from a base station, the SIB comprising: a default paging cycle, and an indication that override of the default is supported; entering an inactive state in which a transceiver of the UE is in a low power state; and causing, while the UE is in the inactive state, the transceiver to periodically enter a higher power state to monitor its paging channel at a periodicity based on the second duration. Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. Generally, the described techniques provide for a user equipment (UE) to receive a logical channel configuration indicating whether logical channels at the UE are configured to use an access link, a sidelink, or both. A UE may determine that data is available on one or more logical channels and may transmit a buffer status report and a scheduling request to a base station based on the determination. In response, the base station may transmit an uplink grant to the UE allocating resources for transmitting the available data based on the logical channel configuration. The UE may transmit the available data on the access link, the sidelink, or both, based on the received uplink grant, the logical channels to which the available data applies, and the logical channel configuration.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to technique for facilitating PDCCH monitoring in carrier aggregation for lower power consumption. A UE stops a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) monitoring on a set of activated secondary cells (SCells) in response to a monitoring stoppage event. The UE may resume the PDCCH monitoring on at least one SCell of the set of activated SCells in response to a monitoring resumption event. The set of activated SCells may remain activated during a period between the stopping of the PDCCH monitoring and the resuming of the PDCCH monitoring.

Abstract: Methods and apparatuses described herein provide a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) candidate hopping function that reduces collisions between PDCCH candidates, particularly between PDCCH candidates associated with reduced capability user equipment (UE). For example, the hopping function may be implemented as part of a PDCCH candidate to control channel element (CCE) function or may be applied separately from the PDCCH candidate to CCE function. The hopping function may reduce persistent collisions between PDCCH candidates by correlating the mapping behavior with a value that changes over time. Some techniques and apparatuses described herein provide signaling for configuration and activation/deactivation/modification of the hopping pattern. Thus, collisions between PDCCH candidates are reduced, thereby conserving computing resources and wireless communication resources. Furthermore, the reduction of collisions may improve performance of UEs with reduced PDCCH capabilities, such as reduced-capability UEs. Numerous other aspects are provided.

Abstract: A user equipment (UE) may receive a first group downlink control information transmission associated with a UE group, where the first group downlink control information transmission may reference a second group downlink control information transmission (e.g., according to a pre-notification indication). The UE may determine a feedback condition for the second group downlink control information transmission and monitor for the second group downlink control information transmission. Alternatively, the UE may receive a second group downlink control information transmission referencing the first group downlink control information transmission (e.g., according to a post-confirmation indication), and the UE may determine a feedback condition for the first group downlink control information transmission. Based on the feedback condition, the UE may transmit feedback information, for example, indicating that the UE did not correctly receive the indicated group downlink control information transmission.

Abstract: Aspects are provided which allow a base station to provide RACH configuration(s) indicating RACH occasions which correspond to wake up occasions of a base station according to a power savings mode of the base station. The base station sends one or more RACH configurations indicating ROs to a UE, and then monitors the ROs associated with the power savings mode. The UE determines the ROs associated with the power savings mode, and sends a wake up signal to the base station in at least one of the determined ROs. The base station obtains the wake up signal from the UE in at least one of the monitored ROs. Here, the wake up signal comprises a RACH message. As a result, network power consumption may be optimized through designed configurations which allow a UE to wake up a sleeping base station via a RACH message.
