Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. The following relates more specifically to hierarchical hybrid automatic repeat request (HARM) for multi-level coding with multi-level sequential demodulation and decoding and code block grouping per decoding level. A user equipment (UE) may receive, during a first time period, a transmission from a base station including a first and second code block group (CBG) with codeblocks associated with a first and second decoding level. The UE may fail to decode the first CBG, may not decode the second CBG, may store post processing samples for the second CBG, and may transmit a feedback message to the base station. The base station may retransmit the first CBG and new data on the second CBG in a second time period. The UE may decode the first CBG and use the post processing samples to decode the second CBG from the first time period.

Abstract: In a wireless communication system, dynamic changes of a code block (CB) to resource element (RE) mapping type may improve decoding performance in some scenarios. A user equipment may provide an indication of a preferred CB mapping type. A base station may transmit a physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH) based on a first dynamic CB mapping type in one or more slots. A UE may receive the PDSCH and determine a second CB mapping type that is preferred by the UE based on a metric. The UE may transmit an indicator of the second CB mapping type, for example, as a one-bit or two-bit indicator, which may be coupled with a channel state information (CSI) report or signaled in uplink control information (UCI) independently from a CSI report. The base station may consider the indicator when selecting a new dynamic CB mapping type for the UE.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. The described techniques support blind common phase error (CPE) and residual carrier frequency offset mitigation. Generally, the described techniques provide for blind CPE mitigation at a receiving device without a phase tracking reference signal (PTRS) associated with less overhead and improved performance as compared to use of a PTRS to mitigate CPE. A receiving device may receive a shared channel message in a scheduled shared channel allocation in accordance with a PTRS configuration that omits a PTRS allocation based on a capability of the receiving device to apply blind CPE mitigation for shared channel receptions. In some examples, with a single DMRS symbol allocation, blind CPE mitigation for each subsequent data symbol of a shared channel message may be based on the blind CPE estimation for the previous symbol, which may enable robust mitigation of a residual carrier frequency offset.

Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a repeater may receive control information via a user equipment (UE) entity of the repeater, the control information associated with operation of a wideband entity and a narrowband entity of the repeater. The repeater may receive synchronization information via the narrowband entity, the synchronization information associated with synchronization of wideband communications of the wideband entity. The repeater may receive and forwarding the wideband communications via the wideband entity and based at least in part on the control information and the synchronization information. Numerous other aspects are described.

Abstract: A base station may configure a Doppler tracking sounding reference signal (SRS) resource set with different time gaps between SRS resources of the Doppler tracking SRS resource set. However, factors influencing an optimal time gap for uplink Doppler parameter estimation may change over time and may depend on a Doppler parameter to be estimated. Therefore, parameters of an aperiodic Doppler tracking SRS resource set configuration may become suboptimal for estimating uplink Doppler parameters. Some techniques and apparatuses described herein enable dynamic parameter adaptation for aperiodic Doppler tracking SRS resource sets. The base station may dynamically adapt one or more parameters for an aperiodic Doppler tracking SRS resource set to modify a time gap and/or a number of resources or symbols to be transmitted for an aperiodic Doppler tracking SRS resource set. The base station may transmit downlink control information that indicates the one or more parameters.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may transmit one or more messages that indicate a capability of the UE to support the reception of demodulation reference signals (DMRS) and time drift reference signals (TDRS) according to one or more signaling patterns configured by the network. The UE may then receive one or more control messages that indicate a first signaling pattern for one or more DMRSs and a second signaling pattern for one or more TDRSs, where the first signaling pattern corresponds to or is based on the second signaling pattern. The UE may receive a downlink shared channel multiplexed with the one or more DMRSs according to the first signaling pattern and may receive the downlink shared channel multiplexed with the one or more TDRSs according to the second signaling pattern.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A wireless device such as a user equipment (UE) may receive a message that indicates a coding procedure such as a multi-level coding (MLC) procedure to implement for ongoing communications. The UE may select a first code rate indicator value from a plurality of code rate indicator values corresponding to a first code rate for a first coding level of the coding procedure, and may select a second code rate indicator value that corresponds to a second code rate for a second coding level of the coding procedure. The UE may then transmit a coding level indicator report which includes the selected first code rate indicator value and second code rate indicator value. Based on the transmitted coding level indicator report, the UE may communicate at least one data packet using the coding procedure and the first and second code rates.
