    Abstract: Duplicated physical layer convergence protocol (PLCP) protocol data unit (PPDU) transmission is described for a wireless device with reduced peak-to-average power ratios (PAPR). One example includes obtaining a first sub-PPDU from ta PPDU that includes a data field with data content. A second sub-PPDU may also be obtained by duplicating the PPDU including the data content of the PPDU. At least one of a phase rotation, a phase offset, or a phase ramp is applied to at least a portion of a second set of sub-carrier of a wideband channel. The first sub-PPDU is transmitted on a first set of sub-carriers of the wideband channel and the second sub-PPDU is transmitted on the second set of sub-carriers of the wideband channel.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A first device may transmit control signaling to a second device. The control signaling may indicate a set of different modulation and coding schemes (MCSs) to be applied to at least one of a set of spatial streams or a set of resource units (RUS), where the control signaling may indicate that a respective MCS to be applied to a respective spatial stream or to a respective RU. The first device may transmit, one or more first bits of a first service data unit to the second device via a first spatial stream of or via a first RU using a first MCS and transmit one or more second bits, of the first service data unit or of a second service data unit via a second spatial stream or via a second RU using a second MCS.

    Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer-readable media, for link adaptation in a wireless local area network (WLAN). A link adaptation test packet from a first WLAN device to a second WLAN may include a plurality of link adaptation test portions that are generated using a corresponding plurality of transmission rate options. For example, the plurality of link adaptation test portions may be modulated using different modulation and coding scheme (MCS) options. Thus, a single test packet may be used to evaluate different transmission rate options. The second WLAN device may provide feedback information regarding the link adaptation test portions. The feedback information may be used to determine a transmission rate for a subsequent transmission from the first WLAN device to the second WLAN device based on wireless channel conditions.

    Abstract: A technique for wireless communication of a punctured null data packet with a long training field sequence is disclosed. The long training field (LTF) sequence is generated for the null data packet (NDP) for transmission over a channel having a bandwidth that is an integer multiple of 80 MHz. The LTF sequence is modulated onto a plurality of tones of the channel excluding tones within a punctured subchannel of a plurality of subchannels of the channel. The modulation may be based on a size and location of the punctured subchannel and a symbol duration associated with transmitting the LTF sequence. The NDP is transmitted including the LTF sequence to a second wireless communication device via the channel. A partial bandwidth feedback may be received in response to the LTF in the punctured NDP.

    Abstract: This disclosure provides methods, devices and systems for increasing the transmit power of wireless communication devices operating on power spectral density (PSD)-limited wireless channels. Some implementations more specifically relate to tone mapping techniques and physical layer convergence protocol (PLCP) protocol data unit (PPDU) designs that support duplicate (or “DUP mode”) transmissions with channel puncturing. In some implementations, a wireless communication device may transmit a PPDU carrying user data over a wireless channel excluding one or more punctured subchannels, where the user data is transmitted in a DUP mode. As such, the user data may be mapped to a number (N) of tones spanning a first portion of the wireless channel and a duplicate copy of the user data may be mapped to N tones spanning a second portion of the wireless channel.

    Abstract: This disclosure provides methods, devices and systems for interpreting reserved bits and values associated with different releases of a wireless communication protocol. In some implementations, a wireless communication device may determine whether to terminate or continue reception of a physical layer protocol convergence protocol (PLCP) protocol data unit (PPDU) if it detects a reserved bit in the physical layer preamble set to an unsupported value (such as a value different than what is defined by a version or release of the wireless communication protocol supported by the wireless communication device).     Abstract: This disclosure provides methods, devices and systems for generating enhanced trigger frames. Some implementations more specifically relate to trigger frame designs that support gains in data throughput achievable in accordance with the IEEE 802.11be amendment, and future generations, of the IEEE 802.11 standard. In some implementations, an enhanced trigger frame may be used to solicit a non-legacy trigger-based (TB) physical layer protocol convergence protocol (PLCP) protocol data unit (PPDU) from one or more wireless stations (STAs). In some implementations, the enhanced trigger frame may be configurable to support multiple versions of the IEEE 802.11 standard. For example, an enhanced trigger frame may be configured in accordance with a legacy trigger frame format or a non-legacy trigger frame format.     Abstract: The present disclosure provides techniques for preamble puncturing in wireless local area networks (WLANs). In one implementation, an access point (AP) can identify, within a channel width, one or more bandwidth regions associated with incumbent technologies. The AP can broadcast or advertise, to a basic service set (BSS) initiated or started by the AP, a preamble puncture pattern in one or more management frames, the preamble puncture pattern being based on the bandwidth regions associated with incumbent technologies. In another implementation, an AP can identify a single user (SU) preamble puncture transmission, and can signal in a common portion of a SIG-B field of a multi-user (MU) PPDU format that a resource unit (RU) size is assigned to a same user to indicate the SU preamble puncture transmission. Although these techniques may be used in any frequency band, typical frequency bands may include, but are not limited to, a 2.4 GHz band, a 5 GHz band, and/or a 6 GHz band.
