Abstract: A user equipment (UE) may receive at least one lean synchronization signal block (SSB), each of the at least one lean SSB being received in one of at least one symbol and each of the at least one lean SSB including the same kind of synchronization signal in each of the at least one symbol from a base station, measure at least one quantity associated with the received at least one lean SSB, and transmit a measurement report indicating the measured at least one quantity associated with the received at least one lean SSB to the base station for the purpose of beam management. The UE may receive a configuration indicating a lean SSB resource set. The UE may also receive an instruction to activate/deactivate or trigger the lean SSB and the measurement associated with the received lean SSB resource set when the type is semi-persistent or aperiodic, respectively.

Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive a configuration that indicates, within each symbol of a plurality of symbols, an extra guard interval (GI) before data and a tail GI after the data. The UE may decode first data within a first symbol of the plurality of symbols at a first time location that is based at least in part on the extra GI and the tail GI within the first symbol. The UE may decode second data within a second symbol of the plurality of symbols at a second time location that is based at least in part on the tail GI within the second symbol. Abstract: In a wireless network, a frame structure may include a padding duration at the start of every half subframe to ensure that an integer number of symbols fit within a duration of the half subframe. In some aspects, to avoid wasting time domain resources, the padding duration may be utilized for other purposes. For example, because a single carrier waveform is not bound to a fixed Fast Fourier Transform size, a wireless node may use the padding duration to transmit a single carrier symbol that has a shorter length than a full symbol associated with a subcarrier spacing. Additionally, or alternatively, in cases where a wireless node is configured to transmit or receive a signal in a first symbol of a half subframe that is associated with a different power level than a preceding symbol, the padding duration may be used to adapt a transmit power or a receive gain.

Abstract: A method for wireless communication at a user equipment (UE) includes receiving, from a base station, a slot parameter that configures the UE to receive a number of symbols within a self-contained slot. The method also includes receiving, from the base station, a cyclic prefix (CP) parameter associated with a single symbol of the number of symbols, the CP parameter indicating a source of samples for a CP included at a beginning of the single symbol. The method further includes receiving, from the base station, the number of symbols within the self-contained slot. In some examples, a guard interval (GI) may be included at one or both of an end or a beginning of each symbol of the number of symbols. The CP may be outside a single FFT window of a number of FFT windows, associated with the single symbol of the number of symbols.
