Abstract: A user equipment (UE) configured for dual connectivity with a split bearer configuration may transmit uplink data packets to one or both a master cell group (MCG) and a secondary cell group (SCG). The UE may transmit an uplink transmission from a packet data convergence protocol (PDCP) entity over one or both of a first radio link control (RLC) entity associated with the MCG and a second RLC entity associated with the SCG. The configuration including a transmit buffer threshold. The UE may receive, at the PDCP entity, an uplink switch start indication. The UE may activate the second RLC entity in response to receiving the uplink switch start indication. The UE may transmit a buffer status report according to a current transmit buffer level plus the transmit buffer threshold. Accordingly, the UE may communicate with the SCG based on the uplink switch start indication.

Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for dynamically determining an uplink data split threshold for communicating using one or more radio link control (RLC) entities of a split bearer configuration. A method that may be performed by a user equipment (UE) includes inputting a first set of parameters to a machine learning algorithm, obtaining, as an output of the machine learning algorithm based at least in part on the inputted first set of parameters, a value for a data split threshold, and transmitting the data using at least one of a first RLC entity or the second RLC entity based on the value for the data split threshold and the amount of data the apparatus has to transmit.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A system may support techniques for triggering user equipment (UE) assistance information (UAI) based on mobility, wake up signal (WUS) configuration, or both. In some cases, a UE may communicate with a network node (e.g., a base station) on a first channel according to a discontinuous reception (DRX) configuration. The UE may determine that a speed of the UE satisfies a mobility threshold and may transmit UAI requesting one or more updated DRX configuration parameters based on the speed of the UE satisfying the mobility threshold. Additionally or alternatively, the UE may receive signaling configuring the UE to monitor for WUSs and may transmit UAI requesting one or more updated DRX configuration parameters based on the WUS configuration. The UE may receive control signaling configuring the DRX configuration with the one or more requested parameters in response to the UAI.

The wireless communication device stores at least some of the plurality of data packets in a memory pending an acknowledgement (ACK) indication associated with at least a first data packet of the plurality of data packets. The wireless communication device determines a transmission configuration for at least the first data packet and a second data packet based on whether a threshold occupancy of the memory is satisfied. Other aspects and features are also claimed and described.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices are described for wireless communication. A user equipment (UE), for example, may determine a content size of an uncompressed buffer and a content size of a compressed buffer. The UE may then generate a buffer status report (BSR) based on the content sizes of the uncompressed buffer and the compressed buffer. Alternatively, a base station may receive a BSR based on a size of an uncompressed buffer of the UE. The base station may then receive a compressed packet from the UE and may determine a compression gain based on a size of the compressed packet and a size of a corresponding uncompressed packet. The base station may then adjust the received BSR based on the compression gain.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices are described for wireless communication at a UE. In aspects, a receiver may receive a transmission requesting information about support for data compression. The receiver may determine parameters related to the types of supported data compression and communicate the information to the transmitting device. In some cases, the receiver may then receive a message from the transmitting entity that requests establishment of a data compression configuration. The receiver may respond with confirmation or rejection of the proposed compression configuration. If the configuration is confirmed, the transmitter and receiver may exchange compressed data packets according to the configuration. The devices may exchange status and control information related to the compression configuration (e.g., in a compression header of a compressed message or a separate status and/or control information message).

Moreover, the present methods and apparatuses may perform at least one second procedure based on determining that the CGI of the cell corresponds to the stored CGI of the previous cell, the second procedure including a communication configuration procedure based at least on the one or more parameters.
