    Abstract: Disclosed are techniques for wireless communication. In an aspect, a method of wireless communication performed by a first pedestrian user equipment (PUE) includes performing a ranging operation to a set of UEs, the set including at least a second PUE, and providing ranging data to a third entity, the third entity comprising a vehicle user equipment (VUE) or a road-side unit (RSU). The set of UEs may be randomly selected or selected using a selection algorithm. The set of UEs may be selected by the PUE or by the third entity. The ranging data may include the location of the first PUE, and may include a report on the battery status of the first PUE. The third entity may use the ranging data to update estimated positions of the first PUE and the set of UEs.

    Abstract: Apparatus, methods, and computer-readable media for facilitating scrambling of sidelink control information for sidelink communication are disclosed herein. The scrambling of the SCI may include scrambling CRC, scrambling information bits, and/or scrambling channel bits. An example method for wireless communication at a user equipment UE includes scrambling at least a portion of SCI. The example method also includes transmitting the SCI carrying control information for a sidelink transmission. In another aspect, an example method for wireless communication at a UE includes receiving SCI having scrambled bits. The example method also includes decoding the SCI based on information known to the UE.

    Abstract: Aspects presented herein may enable a wireless device to perform an SL ranging based on a single-sided PRS transmission. In one aspect, a first wireless device transmits one or more reference signals to at least one RIS associated with a second wireless device. The first wireless device receives one or more reflected reference signals reflected from the at least one RIS. The first wireless device calculates a signal RTT based on the one or more reference signals and the one or more reflected reference signals. In another aspect, a second wireless device transmits, to a first wireless device, information indicating a time, a duration, or a periodicity in which at least one RIS associated with the second wireless device is to be activated. The second wireless device activate the at least one RIS based on the information.

    Abstract: Method and apparatus for on demand assistance for sidelink communication. The apparatus receives, from a base station, an AN configuration for one or more ANs associated with the base station. The apparatus transmits, to the base station, an AR to request assistance with communication with a second UE from at least one AN associated with the base station. The apparatus receives, from the base station, a grant to schedule sidelink transmission with the second UE. The sidelink transmission with the second UE is assisted by at least one AN of the one or more ANs associated with the base station. The apparatus communicates via sidelink communication with the second UE, via the at least one AN, using allocated resources of the grant from the base station.
