Abstract: A structure where there are self-contained subframes/slots with smaller TTIs within the subframes/slots is provided to address the issues in MMW scheduling. In an aspect of the disclosure, a method, a computer-readable medium, and an apparatus are provided. The apparatus may transmit downlink information to at least one UE using a plurality of downlink TTIs within a subframe/slot. The apparatus may receive uplink information from the at least one UE using at least one uplink region within the subframe/slot. In another aspect of the disclosure, a method, a computer-readable medium, and an apparatus are provided. The apparatus may receive downlink information from a base station using at least one downlink TTI within a subframe/slot. The subframe/slot may include a plurality of downlink TTIs and at least one uplink region. The apparatus may transmit uplink information to the base station using the at least one uplink region within the subframe/slot.

Abstract: Techniques are described herein for addressing tone misalignment between signals of a first radio access technology (RAT) and signals of a second RAT in a combined signal. In some wireless communications systems, the tones of uplink (UL) signals may be shifted up or down based on the configuration of the particular RAT. If UL signals of the first RAT are not shifted in frequency and UL signals of the second RAT are shifted in frequency, processing the combined signal may include additional processing to account for the mismatch.

An indication may be provided to a user equipment (UE) in each slot that indicates a presence or absence of a reference signal transmission in the slot.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may determine to decode or refrain from decoding a transport block (TB) transmitted from a base station based on a decodability condition. The decodability condition may include whether an effective UE throughput for decoding the TB is greater than a predetermined decoding throughput threshold or not. If the effective UE throughput is greater than the predetermined decoding throughput threshold, the UE may refrain from decoding the TB. In some cases, the TB may be a subsequent transmission from the base station based on an initial transmission not being correctly decoded, and the UE may refrain from decoding the subsequent transmission.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for half-duplex frequency division duplexing (HD-FDD) hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) operation are described. The base station may receive a message from a user equipment (UE) indicative of a duplexing capability of the UE. The base station may then select a HARQ process limit based on the duplexing capability. In some examples, the base station may anticipate a collision between an uplink (UL) transmission and a downlink (DL) subframe based on the selected HARQ process limit. The base station may then schedule a transmission to avoid the anticipated collision. In some examples, the base station may limit a number of configurations available for channel quality indicator (CQI) or a precoding matrix indicator (PMI).

The configuration of the transmission may reduce the power consumption of the mobile device for processing the transmission.

Abstract: Techniques are described herein that allow a user equipment (UE) to configure a subcarrier spacing value while monitoring synchronization signals of neighboring cells. In some wireless communication systems, synchronization signals in given radio frequency spectrum band may be transmitted using one of a plurality of different subcarrier spacings. In some cases, a network entity, such as a base station, may transmit an indication to the UE that indicates the subcarrier spacing used by a cell to transmit a specific set of synchronization signals. In some cases, the UE may select a subcarrier spacing based on a database of subcarrier spacings stored locally by the UE. In some cases, the UE may select the subcarrier spacing based on a predetermined configuration.
