Abstract:
In a process for the metal-catalyzed preparation of copolymers of carbon monoxide and an olefinically unsaturated compound having from 2 to 20 carbon atoms in an aqueous medium, the copolymerization is carried out in the presence of a water-soluble macromolecular host compound which has a hydrophobic cavity and a hydrophilic shell.
Abstract:
Linear, alternating .alpha.-olefin-CO copolymers are obtainable by polymerization of a monomer mixture comprisinga) carbon monoxide,b) 1-alkenes which are functionalized by a covalently bonded crown ether unit or cryptand unit A containing at least 5 heteroatoms selected from the group consisting of nitrogen, oxygen, sulfur and/or selenium in the polyheteroatom framework, and, if desired,c) C.sub.2 -C.sub.24 -1-alkenes.
Abstract:
An electromagnetic stirrer for stirring the molten core of a continuously cast strand has a casing. The casing accommodates a body of oil as well as electromagnetic stirring coils which have respective magnet cores and are immersed in the oil. A system of cooling pipes extends into the oil and has water inlets and water outlets. The stirrer may be constructed as a unit with a continuous casting mold and, in such an event, the water inlets are connected to a source of mold cooling water while the water outlets function to discharge or recycle the water. Alternatively, the stirrer may be disposed in the secondary cooling zone. Here, the water inlets are connected to a source of secondary cooling water for the strand and the water outlets are in communication with spray nozzles which serve to spray the strand with the secondary cooling water.
Abstract:
A continuous casting apparatus has a mold table which is supported by an oscillator and carries a continuous casting mold. The mold is provided with a casting passage having an inlet end for molten material and an outlet end for a continuously cast strand. An electromagnetic stirrer for the molten material is mounted on the mold table independently of the mold adjacent to the outlet end thereof.
Abstract:
During the continuous casting of at least two strands, withdrawn with the same speed from the continuous casting molds, the withdrawal speed for both strands should be adjusted in accordance with the quantity of cast metal, typically steel, infed to the first continuous casting mold i.e. also the level of molten metal therein. The infed quantity of steel is regulated in at least one further continuous casting mold as a function of such withdrawal speed or velocity.
Abstract:
A crimping frame or crimping base for a charge air cooler may include a circumferential raised rim including a plurality of crimping slots. The plurality of crimping slots may each include two longitudinal sides and two narrow sides. The two longitudinal sides may be disposed opposite one another and may extend parallel to the rim. The two narrow sides may be stiffened via a bent reinforcement. The bent reinforcement and the rim may be structured as a single piece.

Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method for aerating and deaerating an oven (1), which has at least two oven muffles (2, 3) disposed one above the other, the feed apertures (5, 6) of which are or can be closed in each case by a door (7, 8), comprising the following procedural steps: cooling air (L) is drawn off from an outside area surrounding the oven (1), and the drawn-off air (L) is blown at least partially into interior spaces (9, 10) of the doors (7, 8) and then blown out into the outside area after flowing through at least a part of the interior spaces (9, 10), wherein the drawn-off air (L) is blown into the upper door (7) in an upper section of that door (7) and flows substantially downward from above through the interior space (9) of the door (7), wherein the drawn-off air (L) is blown into the interior space (10) of the lower door (8) at a bottom end section thereof and flows substantially upward through the interior space (10) of the door (8), and that the air blown into the interior spaces (9, 10) of the two doors (7, 8) is blown out to the outside area after flowing through the interior spaces (9, 10) of the doors (7, 8) in the lower section of the upper door (7) and the upper section of the lower door (8).
