    Abstract: An electrical connector assembly includes a receptacle connector and a flippable pug connector for connecting with a cable. The receptacle connector includes a terminal module assembly defining a mating tongue loading with two rows of contacts on opposing surface of the mating tongue and a metallic shell retained on the terminal module assembly and enclosing the mating tongue, thereby defining a mating cavity between the metallic shell and the mating tongue. The plug connector includes an insulating housing defining a center slot with side walls and two rows of contacts on the side walls and a metallic shell attached to an outer periphery of the insulating housing. The mating cavity of the receptacle connector is configured to be symmetrical to a horizontal center line without orientation limits so as to allow the plug connector to be mated in two opposite orientations, and the center slot receives the mating tongue.

    Abstract: An electrical connector includes a connection main part surrounded by the seat frame, and a CPU carrier for carrying the CPU and a load plate for downwardly pressing the CPU respectively pivotally located at two opposite ends of the seat frame in the front-to-back direction. A set of rotation mechanism is rotatably assembled upon one end to receive the CPU carrier. A pair of supporting arms are unitarily formed with one end of the seat frame, forming a pair of locking recesses having one open side. The seat frame includes a stopper opposite to the pair of locking recesses in the lengthwise direction. The rotation mechanism is pre-assembled as one piece and successively assembled upon the seat frame along the lengthwise direction with the pivot engaged within the pair of locking recesses and a middle section of the torsion spring engaged with the stopper.

    Abstract: An electrical connector mounted on a PCB includes: an housing comprising a base, a mating tongue and a mounting portion, each surface of the mating tongue defining twelve terminal positions (P1) through (P12); two rows of terminals, each terminal including a mating portion, a leg portion and a middle portion connecting with the mating portion and the leg portion, each leg portion defining a soldering pad. Each row of terminals include grounding terminals in terminal positions (P1, P12) power terminals in terminal positions (P4, P9), and there are no terminals set in terminal positions (P2, P3, P10, P11). The soldering pads of the two rows of terminals are arranged in one row and at least two grounding terminals or two power terminals aligned with each other in a vertical direction are located side by side so as to share a same pad defined on the PCB.

    Abstract: A plug connector includes a front housing, a first and a second terminal module each including an insulator insert molded with terminals. The front housing defines a rear wall, a front mating cavity opening forwards, and a plurality of terminal passageways running through the rear wall in a front and rear direction and the front housing in a vertical direction a first terminal module, The terminals comprising contacting portions received in the corresponding terminal passageways. The shell fitly encloses the front housing and the insulators. The front housing unitarily defines a plurality of protection flanges, each protection flange is located above a front end of each terminal passageway and each contacting section is located inside the protection flange thereby ensuring the contacting sections separating from the shell during the contacting sections are pushed outwards by an insertion of a mating receptacle connector.
