Abstract: A method of controlling a telecommunications network, the telecommunications network having a first node, a second node, and a third node, and the method including identifying a first schedule for a frame for facilitating communication between the first node and the second node; identifying a second schedule for a frame for facilitating communication between the second node and the third node, wherein the frames each have an uplink subframe and a downlink subframe; comparing the first and second schedules so as to identify a misalignment in the frames; and applying an adjustment to the first schedule relative to the second schedule so as to reduce the identified misalignment in the frames, thereby to reduce a delay in communication.

Abstract: Multiple-Input Multiple-Output (MIMO) transmitters, receivers and transceivers are disclosed, as well as other associated devices, systems and methods. In particular, aspects and embodiments of the disclosure relate to MIMO transmitters, receivers and transceivers implemented as modules of relay devices for signals transmitted to and/or from base-stations and/or mobile-stations, in particular when such devices are implemented on mobile and/or aerial vehicles, and in particular for transmitting, receiving and/or forwarding wireless communication signals at frequencies in what is termed the “millimeter-wave band”. In such devices, a power control unit is configured to determine an energy availability measure and/or a power demand measure and, in response, cause a switching unit to connect a plurality of RF chains to a plurality of antenna elements in different states.

Abstract: The invention relates to a method in a cellular telecommunications network, the method including discovering a second donor base station having a first interface for communicating with the first central base station unit and a second interface for wirelessly communicating with the distributed base station unit; determining a capacity of a connection between the central base station unit and the distributed base station unit via the second donor base station; determining that the capacity of the connection satisfies a functional split threshold; and, in response to this determination, causing the centralized base station unit and the distributed base station unit to implement a second functional split in which a third set of protocol functions are implemented in the distributed base station unit and a fourth set of protocol functions are implemented in the central base station unit; and initiating a handover of the distributed base station unit from the first donor base station to the second donor base station.

Abstract: At a mobile terminal: communicating with a serving base station over multicast; receiving a first multicast signal from the serving base station and a second signal from a second base station; determining an indication of the length of a first cyclic prefix of the first multicast signal and an indication of the length of a second cyclic prefix of the second signal; and where the mobile terminal determines that the lengths of the first and second cyclic prefixes are different, initiating a switch in communication between the mobile terminal and the serving base station to unicast. In complementary fashion, at a base station serving a mobile terminal over multicast; sending to the mobile terminal a multicast signal comprising a first cyclic prefix with a first length; receiving from the mobile terminal an indication that the mobile terminal has detected a second cyclic prefix with a second length and switching communicating with the mobile terminal from multicast to unicast.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure provide a resource allocation method and apparatus for a small cell cluster and a communications system. The resource allocation method includes: exchanging by the base station of the upper level with another base station of the upper level, to obtain information on resources and/or interference of the other base station of the upper level; receiving information by the base station of the upper level at least from the cluster head of the SCC, to obtain information on resources and/or interference of the base station of the upper level; and allocating resources for the small cell cluster by the base station of the upper level based on the obtained information on resources and/or interference of the other base station of the upper level and the information on resources and/or interference of the base station of the upper level. According to the embodiments, interference coordination may be performed efficiently on a small cell cluster at an edge of the base station of the higher lever, so as to lower the interference to the small cell cluster, and the expandability of the network may be improved.
