    摘要: In an embodiment, an access terminal sends a request for a level of Quality of Service (QoS) resources to an access network, the QoS resource request associated with a call attempt by the access terminal. The access terminal proceeds with call set-up for the call attempt irrespective of whether the access network grants the QoS resource request. Alternatively, the access terminal waits for an extended period of time before the call attempt is permitted to fail. In a further example, in the event of call failure, the access terminal can refrain from informing a user thereof of the call failure. In another embodiment, the access network can respond to the QoS resource request with an allocation of a lower level QoS resources than requested if the requested QoS resources are not available. The access terminal can likewise be permitted to participate in the call with the lower level QoS resources.

    摘要: In group wireless telecommunication, such as push-to-talk (PTT) calls, a voice communication is broadcast through Internet protocol data packets to other member devices of the PTT group. At least one communication server receives a single communication stream from a communicating wireless device, such as a PTT call, and creates a group communication to all wireless telecommunication devices of the designated group with the broadcast of Internet protocol data packets containing the voice data of the communication stream to one or more wireless telecommunication devices of the receiving group that can receive and handle the packets. Other wireless network infrastructure can be used to assist the communication server in generation and broadcast of the Internet protocol data packets to the receiving wireless telecommunication devices.

    摘要: An apparatus and method for determining a sector location of a wireless communication device and transmitting data from a base station to the wireless communication device over a signaling channel in a wireless communication network without establishing a dedicated data access channel. When the base station is ready to send data over a signaling channel to the wireless communication device, the base station first sends a route table update message to the wireless communication device. The wireless communication device sends a response back to the base station without starting any routine to establish a traffic channel. The response is delivered with a sector information to the base station. After receiving the response, the base station transmits the data over the signaling channel to the sector where the wireless communication device is located.
