    Abstract: Disclosed are embodiments for sidelink (SL) capability exchange via a PC5 link between first and second UEs for configuring inter-UE coordination (IUC). In one embodiment, a method entails generating a radio resource control (RRC) message for the second UE, the RRC message including information to identify supported IUC types of the first UE or provide an indication of which resource allocation mode is supported for IUC; signaling with a first SL unicast transmission to the second UE the RRC message; and receiving through a second SL unicast transmission from the second UE the SL capability of the second UE to configure IUC. Also disclosed are techniques for IUC with a UE configured for mode 1 (network-controlled) sidelink (SL) resource allocation.

    Abstract: In 5G/New Radio (NR), sidelink communication refers to a channel for communications directly between devices, e.g., user equipment (UEs), without use of traditional uplink or downlink communication channels. Sidelink Control Information (SCI) is separated into two stages (i.e., SCI stage 1 and SCI stage 2) before being transmitted to configure a user device. A method for configuring sidelink communications for a wireless device includes: obtaining SCI Stage 2 payload information; attaching and distributing cyclic redundancy check (CRC) information to the payload information; performing encoding and rate matching (RM) on the payload information; scrambling the encoded and rate matched payload information; performing modulation on the scrambled payload information; determining a resource mapping for the modulated payload information, wherein the modulated payload information is aggregated across two or more slots (e.g., using different processing operations for at least two slots); and transmitting the modulated payload information according to the determined resource mapping.

    Abstract: Disclosed are embodiments for a request and response signaling between first and second user equipment (UE) via a PC5 link for configuring inter-UE coordination. In some embodiments, request signaling entails a first UE identifying a transmit resource pool of the first UE to be sensed or evaluated by the second UE; instructing the second UE to report information indicating a quantity of resources; and instructing the second UE to evaluate the resources to be reported. In other embodiments, response signaling entails a first UE receiving from the second UE a request signal for inter-UE coordination; indicating a set of one or more resources, in which the set is indicated as corresponding to whitelist, blacklist, or collision list; and providing a validity time for resources indicated.
