    Abstract: A modular computing system for a data center includes one or more data center modules including rack computer systems. An electrical module is coupled to the data center modules and provides electrical power to computer systems in the data center modules. The data center modules do not include any internal active cooling systems and cannot be coupled with any external active cooling systems. A data center module directs ambient air to flow into intake air plenums extending along intake sides of the rows of racks, through the rows of racks into exhaust plenums extending along exhaust sides of the rows of racks, and out into the ambient environment to cool computer systems in the racks. Directed airflow can be lateral, vertical, at least partially driven by air buoyancy gradients, at least partially induced by air moving devices internal to computer systems in the rows of racks, thereof, etc.

    Abstract: A data center infrastructure module enables multiple data center infrastructure systems to be simultaneously installed in a data center (as opposed to sequentially installing the respective data center infrastructure systems). The data center infrastructure module includes a collapsible frame and one or more data center infrastructure system components coupled to the collapsible frame. The data center infrastructure module may be pre-assembled remotely from a data center location and may be transported to the data center location in a collapsed state. At the data center location, the pre-assembled data center infrastructure module may be expanded and installed between self-standing frames.

    Abstract: A power distribution grid for a facility, such as a data center, is located within the facility. The power distribution grid includes a plurality of power transport elements arranged in a grid pattern and nodes located at intersections of the grid pattern. Electrical loads are supplied power via respective nodes of the power distribution grid. Also, each node is supplied power from more than two transport elements, such that one or more transport elements can fail and electrical loads connected to a particular node associated with the failed transport elements continue to receive electrical power supplied to the particular node from at least two different transport elements.

    Abstract: A bypass device is used to bypass one or more automatic transfer switches mounted in an automatic transfer switch cabinet. The bypass device is physically coupled to one or more input power sources and to each respective output connection of a plurality of automatic transfer switches in the automatic transfer switch cabinet. The bypass device selectively feeds electrical power to one or more loads associated with a limited selection of automatic transfer switches to be bypassed. The bypass device comprises a selector device configured to route power from an input power source to respective output connections of the limited selection of automatic transfer switches to be bypassed. A plurality of output breakers are coupled to separate power outlets of each of the plurality of automatic transfer switches to isolate the respective automatic transfer switches.

    Abstract: A data center can include at least one computing room, and at least one rack system disposed in the computing room. The rack system includes a rack housing that at least substantially encapsulates an interior space, and a plurality of computing devices mounted to the rack in the interior space. The data center can further include a cooling system. The cooling system includes a conduit that is disposed in the interior space of the rack housing and a fluid that flows through the conduit, wherein heat is transferred from air in the interior space to the fluid to produce cooled air in the rack housing.
