Abstract:
A thermophilic microorganism is modified to permit the increased production of ethanol, wherein a first modification is the inactivation of the lactate dehydrogenase gene and a second modification upregulates the pyruvate dehydrogenase gene.
Abstract:
A lithium microbattery formed by a stack of thin layers on a substrate which comprises two current collectors, a positive electrode, a solid electrolyte layer, a negative electrode and an encapsulating layer. The encapsulating layer is formed by a protective layer made from polymer material on which a barrier layer is arranged. The protective layer comprises a copolymer formed from a homogeneous mixture of at least two photopolymerizable precursor materials, respectively acrylate-based and epoxide-based.
Abstract:
A process for the recovery of substituted tartaric acid resolving agents from resolution process liquors comprising organic solvents, wherein the substituted tartaric acid derivatives are neutralised by adding a base, extracted into an aqueous phase and crystallised from the aqueous phase by addition of a mineral acid in the presence of an organic solvent.
Abstract:
A new and distinct cultivar of ornamental peach tree called 'Corinthian Rose' is provided that demonstrates a narrowly columnar growth habit, a vigorous growth rate, dark purple foliage, and an abundance of dark pink colored, double flowers. The new cultivar produces very few fruit, and is intended for use as a Spring flowering ornamental plant in the home landscape.
Abstract:
A new and distinct cultivar of ornamental peach tree called 'Corinthian White' is provided that demonstrates a narrowly columnar growth habit, a vigorous growth rate, green foliage, bright green new stems, and an abundance of white-colored, double flowers. The new cultivar produces very few fruit, and is intended for use as a Spring flowering ornamental plant in the home landscape.
Abstract:
A removably installable apparatus and system for managing weight transfer along a tractor drawn tool bar for use in row planting systems is provided. The planter weight transfer system comprises first and second bolt-on bracket assemblies, each bolt-on bracket assembly comprising a primary plate and a secondary plate secured to each other and to a row planter tool bar by a set of fasteners. Additionally, the bolt-on brackets are joined at the top by an actuator which applies a force on the brackets.
Abstract:
An apparatus and system for adjustably controlling the position and depth of row cleaner wheels in no-till planting applications, the apparatus comprising a frame, a piston movably secured at the top to the frame, first and second sets of parallel arms disposed on either side of the piston and movably secured at one end to the frame and at the other end to a hub stem, and a set of piston arms each movably secured at the top to one of the first or second set of parallel arms and at the other end to the bottom of the piston.
Abstract:
An improved row cleaning/closing wheel having improved debris removing and/or furrow closing performance with complimentary left and right cleaning/closing wheel pairs having a sloped body portion at an angle relative to a hub base for improved cleaning and/or closing operation during row planting. The sloped body portion and the hub base may form a continuous curve from the center of the hub base to a set of teeth on the outer edge of the sloped body portion. The improved row cleaning wheel for use with a floating row cleaner and/or closing arm assemblies attached to a row planter during planting operation.
Abstract:
An improved row cleaning/closing wheel having improved debris removing and/or furrow closing performance with complimentary left and right cleaning/closing wheel pairs having complimentary teeth configurations to provide spatial, angular and rotational intermeshed cleaning and/or closing operation during row planting. The improved row cleaning wheel for use with a floating row cleaner and/or closing arm assemblies attached to a row planter during planting operation.
Abstract:
The method of producing a device having batteries includes the following successive steps performed on a support substrate: providing a support substrate including a first electrically conducting layer forming a main surface, simultaneously forming a plurality of batteries on the first electrically conducting layer, testing operation of the plurality of batteries to discriminate between a first group of functional batteries and a second group of defective batteries, forming a second electrically conducting layer electrically insulated from the first electrically conducting layer, the second electrically conducting layer and the first electrically conducting layer being configured to connect only the functional batteries in parallel.
