摘要: Disposed within the body of a robotic device are an output element, accelerometer, gyroscope, and processor. The accelerometer sends a signal to the processor in response to detection of a vibration external to the body. The gyroscope sends a signal to the processor in response to a detection of movement of the body. The processor then sends an action signal to the output element based on the signals received from the accelerometer and gyroscope.

摘要: A modular sensing device can include an inertial measurement unit to generate sensor data corresponding to user gestures performed by a user, a mode selector enabling the user to select a mode of the modular sensing device out of a plurality of modes, and one or more output devices to generate output based on the user gestures and the selected mode. The modular sensing device can further include a controller to implement a plurality of state machines. Each state machine can be associated with a corresponding user gesture by a sensor data signature. The state machine can execute a state transition when the sensor data matches the sensor data signature. The executed state transition can cause the controller to generate a corresponding output via the one or more output devices specific to the selected mode and based on the corresponding user gesture.

摘要: A multi-body self-propelled device can include a drive body and a coupled head. The drive body can include a spherical housing, an internal drive system within the spherical housing to propel the multi-body self-propelled device, and a magnet holder coupled to the internal drive system to hold a first set of magnetic elements. The drive body can further include a first power source within the spherical housing to power the internal drive system and a first inductive interface. The coupled head can include second set of magnetic elements to establish a magnetic interaction with the first set of magnetic elements through the spherical housing. The coupled head can also include a second power source, and a second inductive interface. The multi-body self-propelled device can transfer power between the coupled head and the drive body via the first and the second inductive interfaces.

摘要: A self-propelled device can determine an initial reference frame of the self-propelled device in three-dimensional space, receive control inputs from a controller device, where the control inputs can be inputted by a user on a steering mechanism of the controller device. The self-propelled device can interpret the control inputs as control commands to maneuver the self-propelled device, and implement the control commands on an internal drive system of the self-propelled device to maneuver the self-propelled device based on the control inputs. While maneuvering, the self-propelled device can determine an orientation of the internal drive system within a spherical housing of the self-propelled device in relation to the initial reference frame, and transmit feedback to the controller device based on the orientation of the internal drive system in order to calibrate an orientation of the steering mechanism with the orientation of the internal drive system.
