The circuit and method further operate by detecting an envelope of the first filtered signal to obtain a first envelope signal, detecting an envelope of the second filtered signal to obtain a second envelope signal, and differencing the first and second envelope signals to obtain a demodulated output signal.

Such wave analysers (4,14) provide the receivers (1,11) with better quality indicators compared to prior art signal strength indicators and comprise delaying stages (20) for generating control signals representing DC jitter, comparing stages (40) for generating further control signals representing a presence of a non-part-frequency like presences of higher frequencies and lower frequencies, and data slicing stages (70) for generating sliced bits.
