Abstract: Solutions to problems from delays in channel acquisition by UEs in a contention-based shared radio frequency spectrum band are disclosed. For example, if an eNB knows of a recent or ongoing downlink transmission on a frequency to be used for uplink transmission by a UE, then the eNB may instruct the UE to either skip performance of LBT on that frequency or else perform a type of LBT that is shorter in duration than a full CCA. One way for the eNB to instruct the UE in this fashion is to set an indicator in an uplink grant transmitted to the UE on another frequency. Additionally, in order to avoid truncation of an uplink transmission opportunity, an eNB may notify a UE that an uplink grant is valid for more than one starting point.

Abstract: Techniques and apparatuses described herein facilitate narrowband communication within the unlicensed frequency spectrum by simultaneously transmitting (e.g., in adjacent channels) a plurality of anchor channels. For example, a base station may simultaneously transmit at least three anchor channels of 180 kHz each so that the 500 kHz minimum bandwidth requirement is satisfied. Furthermore, the techniques and apparatuses described herein provide discovery reference signal (DRS) structures to cause the different types of DRS to be repeated and/or transmitted on different anchor channels, which improves frequency diversity. Also, a synchronization signal of the anchor channels may be used to indicate a configuration of the anchor channels. Thus, synchronization in the NB-IoT-unlicensed (NB-IoT-u) spectrum is enabled, and efficiency is improved over synchronization using a single anchor channel.

Abstract: There is a need for a mechanism that increases the UE's chance of properly receiving the NPSS and/or NSSS when frequency hopping is used for narrowband communications in the unlicensed frequency spectrum. The present disclosure provides a solution by transmitting the NPSS and NSSS using a synchronization signal repetition pattern in order to increase the detection probability for the DRS, so that synchronization and/or cell acquisition may be achieved with a reduced number of visits to the anchor channel, thereby reducing synchronization delay and increasing the QoS.

Abstract: In an aspect of the disclosure, a method, a computer-readable medium, and an apparatus are provided. In one example, the apparatus may be a base station. In certain configurations, the apparatus may transmit information indicating a narrowband frequency hopping pattern to at least one UE. In certain aspects, the narrowband frequency hopping pattern may correspond to a plurality of frames. In certain other aspects, the plurality of frames may include at least one non-anchor channel and being associated with a plurality of anchor channels. The apparatus may communicate with the at least one UE using the narrowband frequency hopping pattern. In certain aspects, communication on the plurality of anchor channels may occur during the same frames.

Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may determine, based at least in part on a set of channel state information reference signals (CSI-RSs), a plurality of hypotheses associated with a plurality of transmission/reception points (TRPs), wherein the UE is configured to receive non-coherent transmissions across the plurality of TRPs according to at least one of a transparent transmit diversity scheme, a non-transparent transmit diversity scheme, or a closed-loop block diagonal precoder scheme, and wherein a coherent precoder is configured within each of the plurality of TRPs. In some aspects, the UE may determine, based at least in part on the plurality of hypotheses, channel state information (CSI) feedback associated with the plurality of TRPs. Abstract: Described techniques provide for transmission of synchronization signals using frequency hopping across a number of hopping frequencies in unlicensed or shared radio frequency spectrum. A base station may identify a set of hop frequencies for transmitting synchronization signals, and transmit synchronization signals using a hopping pattern over the hop frequencies. A user equipment (UE) seeking to identify the base station may monitor one or more of the hop frequencies to identify one or more synchronization signals on the hop frequency. A system timing may be identified in some cases, and one or more base station IDs may be identified. In some cases, a hop frequency may be monitored for a duration that may span the transmission of two or more synchronization signals of a particular base station, based on a periodicity of synchronization signal transmissions on each hop frequency.

Abstract: Systems and methods related to UL communications in a wireless network are provided. A UE receives an indication of a plurality of TXOPs for a RACH procedure from a BS. In an embodiment, the UE starts a timer after either successfully transmitting a random access message to the BS or failing to succeed in any of the TXOPs. In another embodiment, the UE starts the timer at a pre-agreed time after one of the TXOPs, regardless of whether the random access message has been successfully transmitted yet or not. In another embodiment, the UE receives as part of a RACH response an indication of whether the RACH response is split into multiple parts. If the UE does not locate an identifier corresponding to the UE in the RACH response, the UE checks for the indication and, if present, listen for the next RACH response identified from the indication.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described for uplink power control. A user equipment (UE) in communication with a base station may select a power control configuration for low latency or high reliability communications or semi-persistently scheduled communications. In some cases, a power control configuration may correspond to a reception point in a multi-reception-point environment. In some cases, the power control configuration may indicate a default transmit power for uplink communications. In some cases, a UE may perform, at the physical layer, measurements on a signal received from the base station and use this information to determine or select a transmit power for uplink communications. Selecting the low latency power control configuration may include selecting a set of transmit powers or a step size for transmit power adjustments specific to low latency or high reliability communications or semi-persistently scheduled communications.

Abstract: In enhanced licensed assisted access (eLAA), providing several approaches to report the channel state information (CSI) measurement may be desirable to provide flexibility in CSI reporting, especially in aperiodic CSI reporting. Further, a difference in using a licensed carrier and an unlicensed carrier may be considered during communication. In addition, assigning different transmit power usage based on different transmission types may be desired. The apparatus may be a user equipment (UE). The apparatus may be a UE. The UE receives a grant for uplink communication. The UE determines a reporting subframe based on the grant. The UE determines whether to select, as a reference subframe, a triggering subframe in which the grant is received or a subframe before the reporting subframe. The UE transmits, in the reporting subframe, CSI measured in the reference subframe.
