Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described in which beamforming may be configured at a user equipment (UE) for narrowband communications. The UE may be a narrowband UE that may provide an indication to a base station that the UE is capable of performing beamforming communication for a unicast channel transmission. Such an indication may be provided in response to the UE receiving a non-beamformed broadcast channel transmission from the base station via a first carrier. The base station may receive the indication and configure the UE with a beamformed narrowband communications scheme. Such a beamformed formed narrowband communications scheme may be used for narrowband downlink shared channel communications, narrowband downlink control channel communications, or combinations thereof. In some cases, beamformed communications may be configured on a different carrier than the first carrier. The base station and UE may then communicate using beamformed transmissions.

In an aspect, a user equipment (UE) performs at least one positioning measurement of at least one downlink positioning reference signal (DL-PRS) received from a transmission-reception point (TRP) during a positioning session, reports, to a positioning entity, a value of the at least one positioning measurement via low layer signaling, and determines a timestamp for the at least one positioning measurement relative to a reference point, wherein the timestamp comprises an amount of time between the reference point and a time at which the at least one positioning measurement is valid.

The first UE may communicate with the second UE using the first and the second number of resources and avoid using the remaining available resources for power saving. For example, the first UE and the second UE may avoid sidelink communications on time slots on which no subchannels belong to either the first subset or second number of the resources.

The DCI includes at least one FDRA field indicating RBs for the uplink transmission or the downlink transmission. The apparatus communicates with the UE based on the cross carrier schedule configured by the DCI.
