Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A base station may determine that a triggering event associated with a user equipment (UE) has occurred. The UE may receive, based at least in part on an occurrence of a triggering event associated with the UE, a trigger signal that identifies resources to be used for transmission of an aperiodic tracking reference signal (TRS). The UE may receive the aperiodic TRS based at least in part on the trigger signal and the identified resources. The UE may perform at least one of a tracking function, or a synchronization function, or an alignment function, or a combination thereof, in response to the occurrence of the triggering event and based at least in part on the aperiodic TRS.

Abstract: A configuration to enable a UE to monitor downlink control to determine a slot direction while operating in a half duplex operation in a FDD mode. The apparatus receives an indication of a slot pattern for a plurality of slots, wherein the slot pattern indicates the plurality of slots includes at least one flexible slot. The apparatus receives a downlink control monitoring occasion configuration. The apparatus monitors for downlink control from a base station based at least on the indication of the slot pattern and on the monitoring occasion configuration. The apparatus determines whether the at least one flexible slot is an uplink slot or a downlink slot based on a DCI. The apparatus transmits or receives communications on the slot based on the determination.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. Techniques are described to enable wake-up signal (WUS) error handling at a user equipment (UE). The UE may detect an error pattern when attempting to receive a WUS from a base station based on a configuration for receiving the WUS. For example, the base station may transmit the configuration for receiving the WUS to a set of UEs including the UE. Based on detecting the error pattern, the UE may perform a mitigation operation based on determining the error pattern, such as waking up multiple cells to receive a transmission indicated by the WUS, transmitting a radio link failure indication to the base station, etc. Additionally or alternatively, the base station may transmit multiple WUSs to the UEs, such as a first WUS according to the configuration and a second WUS according to a reconfiguration.

In one example, a method for wireless communications at a user equipment (UE) includes determining one or more performance metrics related to communications over a wireless channel and comparing the one or more performance metrics with a performance level for the communications over the wireless channel. The method may include selecting a power mode for the UE based at least in part on the comparing and determining an operating state of a subset of a plurality of radio frequency front end elements of at least one active radio frequency chain of the UE based at least in part on the power mode and a priority of the one or more performance metrics. The method may also include adjusting the subset of the plurality of radio frequency front end elements based at least in part on the operating state.

The BS operates in the sleep mode for a sleep mode period. In one embodiment, a UE receives, from a BS, a communication signal indicating that the BS will enter a sleep mode for a sleep mode period. The UE refrains, during one or more sleep windows of the sleep mode period, from performing uplink communications.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may transmit uplink transmissions according to a frequency hopping pattern. The UE may identify that a first set of uplink transmissions are to be transmitted to a base station by a first set of resources (e.g., a first set of slots, a first set of frequency resources) as indicated by the frequency hopping pattern. The UE may further identify, based on the frequency hopping pattern, that a second set of uplink transmissions are to be transmitted to the base station by a second set of resources (e.g., a second set of slots, a second set of frequency resources). The first set of slots and the second set of slots may each include more than one slot. Additionally, the first and second set of resources may be within a same bandwidth part or in different bandwidth parts.

The control signal and the data signal are received over a single carrier frequency. The data signal is transmitted after the control signal such that the data signal and control signal are separated by a time interval. The time interval is based on a switching latency of the mobile device.

Abstract: In one aspect, an apparatus configured for wireless communication includes at least one processor; and a memory coupled to the at least one processor. The at least one processor is configured to receive a control message indicating a reference signal offset information element (IE) for aperiodic reference signal offset determination and to receive a control channel transmission indicating a particular aperiodic reference signal transmission. The at least one processor is further configured to receive the particular aperiodic reference signal transmission based on a particular reference signal offset. The particular reference signal offset is determined based on the control channel transmission and a set of reference signal offset values, which are determined based on the reference signal offset IE and on one or more minimum scheduling conditions for cross-slot scheduling. Control messaging may be used to indicate a mapping of beams and bandwidth part to respective indices, such as a bandwidth part identifier or a transmission configuration indicator (TCI) state codepoint. Further control messaging may specify one of these indices, and a user equipment (UE) may communicate with a network entity, such as a satellite or base station using a bandwidth part in a beam specified in the control messaging.
