Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may determine a timing advance value to use for an uplink transmission based on a unified transmission configuration indicator (TCI) state associated with the uplink transmission. In some examples, the control signaling configuring a unified TCI state for an uplink transmission may indicate the timing advance value for the uplink transmission. In some examples, the UE may receive control signaling indicating an association between a set of timing advance values for the component carrier associated with a set of unified TCI states or a set of unified TCI groups, and the UE may determine the timing advance value for a given uplink transmission based on the TCI state or TCI group indicated for the uplink transmission.

Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may communicate, within a time period, with a network node via a primary communication path comprising a link between the network node and a first electromagnetic radiation reflection relay network node and a link between the first electromagnetic radiation reflection relay network node and the UE. The UE may communicate, within the time period, with the network node via at least one secondary communication path comprising a link between the UE and a second electromagnetic radiation reflection relay network node. Numerous other aspects are described.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) or relay node may transmit a beam report indicating a polarization layer mismatch (achievable rates are different for the first and second polarizations, or positioning estimation accuracy is different for the first and second polarizations). The report may include an indication of an imbalance in signal strength, an estimation error for the two polarizations, one or more beam pairs that are not supported across the two polarizations, a preferred polarization, or a combination thereof. In response to the beam report, the network entity may adjust one or more parameters, and may transmit accordingly. A relay node may indicate non-co-located polarization array construction via capability information. The UE may then transmit feedback indicating a direction of steered beams at the UE. The relay node performs relay operations based on transmission characteristics selected from the beam direction information.

Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. Some aspects involve enhancing an inter-user-equipment coordination (IUC) framework to enable user equipment (UE) to perform beam sweeping over the sidelink. Some aspects more specifically relate to fine-tuning beams, such as transmit beams or receive beams, using one or more IUC requests. In some aspects, multiple transmit beams or multiple receive beams may carry respective IUC requests and associated beam signals. In some aspects, one transmit beam or one receive beam may carry an IUC request and associated beam signal, multiple remaining transmit beams or receive beams may carry associated beam signals, and the transmit UE or the receive UE may identify a fine-tuned transmit beam or a fine-tuned receive beam responsive to, based on, or otherwise associated with the IUC request and associated beam signals.

Abstract: An integrated access and backhaul (IAB) node may establish a first connection with a first base station, establish a second connection with a second base station, and receive an indication, from the first base station or the second base station, that indicates at least one of the first base station or the second base station is to serve as an IAB donor for the IAB node. The first base station may indicate to the second base station, based on the second connection being established with the IAB node, that at least one of a first base station or the second base station is to serve as an IAB donor for the IAB node.

Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a base station may receive, via a first interface of a repeater, information associated with a second interface of the repeater. The base station may determine a configuration for the second interface of the repeater based at least in part on the information associated with the second interface, and may communicate the configuration for the second interface of the repeater via the first interface. In some aspects, a repeater may transmit, to a base station via a first interface, information associated with a second interface of the repeater. The repeater may receive, via the first interface, a configuration for the second interface, and may configure the second interface based at least in part on the configuration. Numerous other aspects are provided.

    TECHNIQUES FOR DETECTING BLOCKAGE CONDITIONS

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A user equipment (UE) may detect and report blockage conditions based on measuring signal strengths of reference signals. A UE may determine a slew rate for the signal strength, corresponding to a rate of change of a signal strength parameter (e.g., a reference signal received power (RSRP) or a received signal strength indicator (RSSI)) with respect to time, and report the slew rate to a base station to indicate signal strength degradation (e.g., due to a blockage). In some examples, the UE may define multiple slew rates associated with different rates of change of the signal strength parameter with respect to time. When the UE crosses a level of slew rate, the UE may indicate this to the base station to initiate mitigation procedures. In some examples, the techniques described herein may be extended to reporting slew rates for multiple beams.
