    Abstract: Random access channel access and validity procedures are disclosed. In one aspect, the medium access control (MAC) indications multiple random access occasions (ROs) to user equipments (UEs) for random access transmissions. In such aspect, random access failure would only be declared if listen before talk (LBT) procedures for the random access transmission fail on all of the ROs indicated by the MAC layer. Similarly, in additional aspects, a UE will not apply a backoff value for any LBT failures for random access attempts that occur within an LBT time window. In further aspects, a UE may determine the validity of ROs that overlap with a discovery reference signal measurement timing configuration (DMTC) window. In such aspects, the UE may not use overlapping ROs or may determine a portion of the DMTC window that is not used for base station transmissions and declare the overlapping ROs with the unused portion valid.

Generally, the described techniques provide for encoding uplink data for transmission based on control information included in a first uplink grant corresponding to a first set of uplink resources, receiving a second uplink grant associated with a second set of uplink resources, wherein the second uplink grant is associated with the encoded uplink data for transmission, determining a starting time (e.g., a first delay or a second delay) for the second set of uplink resources based at least in part on a timing of the encoding with respect to the second uplink grant, and transmitting uplink data during the second set of uplink resources based on the determined starting time.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. In some systems, a network may schedule a user equipment (UE) for multiple transmission/reception point (TRP) communication. The network may transmit a single downlink control information (DCI) message to the UE to dynamically configure multiple transmission configuration indicator (TCI) states for the multiple TRPs. In a first example, the DCI message may include a bit field indicating a set of antenna ports and the multi-TRP scheme for transmission. In a second example, the DCI message may include a separate field indicating the multi-TRP scheme (e.g., based on UE capabilities). In a third example, the DCI may indicate redundancy versions (RVs) for different TRPs in an RV field or across multiple fields. In a fourth example, the DCI may include an indication of a precoding resource block group (PRG) size that may be interpreted differently based on the indicated multi-TRP scheme.

    Abstract: Wireless communications systems and methods related to multiplexing uplink control channel signals from different users are provided. A first wireless communication device obtains an uplink control channel multiplex configuration indicating a first frequency spreading sequence and at least one of a second frequency spreading sequence or a first spatial direction. The first wireless communication device communicates, with a second wireless communication device, a first uplink control channel signal including a first reference signal and a first uplink control information signal in a frequency spectrum based on the uplink control channel multiplex configuration. The first reference signal is based on the first frequency spreading sequence and the first uplink control information signal is based on at least one of the second frequency spreading sequence or the first spatial direction.

    Abstract: A method, apparatus, and computer-readable medium that enable and disable autonomous downlink transmission (ADT) capability at a user equipment (UE) or a gNB are disclosed. The ADT capability is enabled when a triggering event occurs. The ADT capability is realized in part via initiating a listen before talk (LBT) procedure of a first LBT type to obtain an uplink (UL) transmission opportunity (TxOP) after determining that the UE does not have any UL data to transmit, transmitting uplink control information (UCI) with a limited amount of data to request for a resource grant of the TxOP for pending DL data; and receiving the pending DL data, wherein resources for receiving the pending DL data is dynamically configured via the UCI or semi-statically configured through a radio resource control (RRC) protocol message.

    Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a transmitter device may determine that a communication is to be transmitted on a shared spectrum during a channel access interval not reserved for the communication. The transmitter device may determine, based at least in part on determining that the communication is to be transmitted, that a detection power of a listen-before-talk (LBT) operation satisfies a threshold. The transmitter device may transmit, after a coordinated rate control region and based at least in part on the detection power of the LBT operation satisfying the threshold, a reservation request signal associated with the communication. The transmitter device may transmit the communication before an end of the channel access interval based at least in part on a response to the reservation request signal.     Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may obtain access to a shared radio frequency spectrum band for a transmission opportunity. The UE may perform an autonomous uplink transmission over the shared radio frequency spectrum band during a first portion of the transmission opportunity. The UE may transmit a physical layer scheduling request comprising a transmission size parameter for a second portion of the transmission opportunity. The UE may receive an uplink grant for the second portion of the transmission opportunity based at least in part on the scheduling request. The UE may perform a scheduled uplink transmission over the shared radio frequency spectrum band during the second portion of the transmission opportunity according to the uplink grant.

    Abstract: Wireless communications systems and methods related to constraining no-listen-before-talk (LBT)-based transmissions during link direction switches in a frequency spectrum shared by multiple network operating entities are provided. A first wireless communication device, communicates, with a second wireless communication device, a configuration for determining whether to perform an LBT after a link direction switch. The first wireless communication device communicates, with the second wireless communication device, a first communication signal in a first link direction during a channel occupancy time (COT) period of the first wireless communication device or the second wireless communication device. The first wireless communication device communicates, with the second wireless communication device, a second communication signal in a second link direction different from the first link direction during the COT period based on the configuration.
