Abstract: Improvements to asynchronous spatial listen before talk (LBT) procedures are disclosed. In a shared spectrum network spatial LBT procedures are used for directionally targeting the channel reservation process. Prior to transmitting channel reservation signaling, the transmitter and receiver determine an effective interference considering available multiple input, multiple output (MIMO) configuration information. When the effective interference exceeds a predefined threshold, the node may without transmission of its channel reservation signal. Otherwise, when the effective interference remains within the threshold, each node's transmitted channel reservation signal may also identify at least a beamforming matrix either as payload or used to precode the node's channel reservation signal.

Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment may receive, from a base station, a message that triggers aperiodic channel state information (CSI) reporting for sidelink communications between the UE and another UE, wherein the message indicates a first set of sidelink CSI reference signal (CSI-RS) resources to be used by the UE for CSI-RS transmission; transmit a first set of CSI-RSs in the first set of sidelink CSI-RS resources; receive an indication of one or more modulation and coding schemes (MCSs) for sidelink communications between the UE and the other UE based at least in part on transmitting the first set of CSI-RSs; and communicate with the other UE using an MCS of the one or more MCSs. Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. Generally, the described techniques provide for efficiently performing and reporting reference signal received power (RSRP) measurements. In particular, the techniques described herein may allow a user equipment (UE) to efficiently identify reference signals on which to perform RSRP measurements (e.g., based on signaling from a base station), identify when to report RSRP measurements (e.g., aperiodically, periodically, or semi-persistently), and identify a channel on which to report RSRP measurements (e.g., a sidelink channel or an uplink channel). In addition, the techniques described herein may also allow a UE to efficiently identify open loop parameters to use to determine an appropriate transmit power for transmitting to another UE over a sidelink.

Abstract: Technology neutral coexistence and high priority traffic is disclosed for use in unlicensed frequency bands. Synchronization boundaries are defined in which synchronous contention windows across all radio access technologies attempting access to a shared communication channel occur periodically. Between the synchronous contention windows, the nodes may return to asynchronous access procedures. Such synchronous access procedures may be applicable to certain power classes or deployment type nodes. Additionally, various priority schemes for the synchronous contention window may be used to ensure protection of higher priority nodes or traffic, such as ultra-reliable low latency communication (URLLC) traffic. According to certain aspects, the deployment of such synchronous access methodology may be triggered via signaling from initiating devices. Additional aspects may provide for a technology neutral receiver protection mechanism by defining resources for protection signaling during receiver protection intervals between successive synchronous contention windows.

Abstract: Uplink clear channel assessment (CCA) status is disclosed as a new uplink control message for new radio (NR) unlicensed (NR-U) operations. When an opportunity for potential uplink transmissions arises for a user equipment (UE), the UE will perform a CCA procedure on available uplink resources. The UE reports the results of the CCA procedure to a serving base station via an uplink control message, such as an uplink control information (UCI), physical uplink control channel (PUCCH), or the like. The serving base station may then use the CCA results in scheduling uplink transmissions and reserving uplink resources.

A wireless device may identify multiple regions within a subframe, such as one or more uplink regions, one or more downlink regions, and a guard region. The wireless device may identify and communicate during each region based on a timing relationship between the downlink region and the uplink region. For example, the device may expect hybrid automated repeat request (HARQ) feedback for one downlink region in the same subframe based on the proximity to the next uplink region. Another downlink region may not have HARQ feedback in the same subframe. Similarly, uplink regions may or may not be scheduled within the same subframe.

Abstract: Downlink schemes are disclosed for a cooperative user equipment (UE) with joint baseband processing. UEs may establish a cooperative UE unit with one or more neighboring UEs, where one of the UEs operates as the primary UE. The participating UEs of the cooperative UE unit determine a downlink transmission scheme for the cooperative transmissions from a serving base station and receive cooperative transmissions of one or more transport blocks from the serving base station according to the downlink transmission scheme. The secondary UEs of the cooperative UE unit generate and transmit cooperative process data to the primary UE, where the cooperative process data is based on the receipt of the cooperative transmissions by the secondary UEs. The primary UE processes its received cooperative transmission along with the cooperative process data to decode the one or more transport blocks. Abstract: Aspects are provided that allow a base station to provide a user equipment (UE) multiple timing opportunities to transmit an acknowledgment to a pre-grant (APG) after receiving a pre-grant for a downlink transmission. The base station transmits to the UE a pre-grant for a downlink transmission from the base station, the pre-grant triggering a plurality of timing opportunities for the UE to send an APG to the base station. The UE performs, after receiving the pre-grant, a clear channel assessment (CCA) during at least one timing opportunity of the plurality of timing opportunities. The UE transmits one or more APGs to the base station when the CCA is successful, and the UE receives the downlink transmission from the base station in response to the one or more APGs. The UE transmits the one or more APGs to the base station until the downlink transmission is received from the base station.

Abstract: Technology-specific listen before talk (LBT) parameter adjustments are disclosed for common energy detection (ED) thresholds. Some of the technologies sharing access to the same shared communication spectrum include additional access deferral procedures. Such technologies may be configured with additional compensating features to increase the likelihood of fairness in spectrum access across all technologies sharing a common ED threshold. Such additional compensating features may include a reduced contention window size relative to the technologies that do not include such additional access deferral procedures, increased maximum channel occupancy times (COTs) for longer transmissions, and the like. Each such additional compensating feature may be available under different circumstances, such as always available or available in response to the node activating one of the additional access deferral procedures. Additionally, such additional compensating features may, once initiated, be active and available for a predetermined period of time.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described in which a transmitting device using shared radio frequency spectrum may perform a listen before talk (LBT) procedure for at least a minimum dwell time and, upon successful completion of the LBT procedure, may occupy the spectrum for up to a duration of a channel occupancy time (COT). The transmitting device may discontinue transmitting during the COT for a gap period, and resume transmitting subsequent to the gap period without performing another LBT procedure. The minimum dwell time may be based on a periodicity of a channel reservation signal transmitted by one or more other devices using the shared radio frequency spectrum. In some cases, the transmitting device may schedule one or more receiving devices with resources for transmissions during the COT, and the receiving devices may perform a LBT that is non-adjacent with an associated transmission.
