Abstract: This application provides a communication method, a communication apparatus, and a terminal device. The method includes a first node that receives a first message of a terminal device that requests to associate the terminal device with the first node. The first node obtains information about a second node, where the second node is a group header of an upper layer group in which the terminal device is located. The first node performs data transmission as a relay between the terminal device and the second node. According to a solution provided in this application, the terminal device can perform normal communication.

Abstract: This application provides a communications method and a communications apparatus, to reduce storage resources required by an access network device to store a context of a terminal device. The method includes: The access network device gathers terminal devices that have a same attribute in a group, where a context of each terminal device is divided into two parts: a common context and a dedicated context, the common context is shared by all the terminal devices in the group, and the dedicated context is a context specific to the terminal device. The access network device stores one common context for each group and stores a dedicated context of each terminal device in the group, to maintain the context of each terminal device.

Abstract: This application provides a minimization of drive tests (MDT) measurement solution, which may be used to implement an MDT measurement of a network device with an architecture in which a central unit (CU) entity and a distributed unit (DU) entity are separated. A centralized unit control plane (CU-CP) determines configuration information, and sends the configuration information to a centralized unit user plane (CU-UP) of the network device. The configuration information is used to perform an MDT measurement on a measurement object. The solution in this application may be applied to a communications system, for example, may be applied to a 5th generation (5G) network.

Abstract: This application discloses a communication system including a master base station and a secondary base station, both connecting with a terminal. In the communication system, the master base station sends a first message to the secondary base station for allocating transmission resources for one or more flows to be transmitted between the secondary base station and a terminal, wherein the first message carries one or both of: identification information of each flow to be transmitted, and information of a data radio bearer (DRB) associated with each flow to be transmitted, then the secondary base station may determine a mapping relationship between a DRB and an admitted flow according to the first message. Moreover, the master base station sends DRB configuration information to the terminal. Therefore, requirements of 5G communication systems for QoS management of information transmission in a dual connectivity scenario can be met.
