摘要: Systems, devices, and techniques for multiple device and multiple line enabled computing devices and computing appliances are described herein. A device number can be assigned to a computing device and can be unique to the computing device. A plurality of alias numbers can be provided to the computing device and enabled for use by the computing device. Alias numbers can be enabled on multiple computing appliances, such that a user can transfer voice or video calls between devices using the alias numbers. Further, monitoring components in a home environment, for example, can be associated with one or more alias number so that security alerts can be provided to the various computing devices and computing appliances associated with the alias numbers.

摘要: A network watchdog and reset device determines that a signal into a modem device has been interrupted. In response to determining that the signal into the modem device has been restored, the device transmits control signals that cause power to the modem device to be cycled. In response to determining that the modem device is outputting data, the device transmits control signals that cause power to a router device to be cycled. In response to determining that the router device is outputting data, the device transmits control signals that cause power to a wireless access point device to be cycled. In response to determining that the wireless access point device is outputting data, the device transmits control signals that cause power to a peripheral device such as a security camera to be cycled.

摘要: The transmit power level of a transceiver coupled to a digital subscriber line (DSL) line is reduced from a first transmit power level sufficient for the transceiver to continuously transmit data on the DSL line at a first bit rate to a second transmit power level below the first transmit power level sufficient for the transceiver to continuously transmit data on the DSL line at a second bit rate that is lower than the first bit rate. The reduction in transmit power is limited so that the change does not induce time-varying crosstalk sufficient to destabilize a nearby DSL line. While the transmit power level of the transceiver is reduced to the second transmit power level, the transceiver is suspended from transmitting data on the DSL line for repeated periods of time. Suspending the data transmission is controlled to avoid further time-varying crosstalk sufficient to destabilize the nearby DSL line.

摘要: Control of a digital communication system having a plurality of communication lines on which signals are transmitted and received is implemented using a variety of methods and systems. According to one embodiment of the present invention, a method is implemented where the signals are affected by interference during transmission and each of the communication lines has at least one transmitter and at least one receiver. A model is created of the interference characteristics due to the signals carried on the communication lines. Interference characteristics for a line are determined based on the model and actual signals carried on other communication lines different from the line for which the characteristics are being determined. Actual interference is compensated for on the communication line using the determined interference characteristics.

The communication channel being susceptible to crosstalk from at least a second communication system different from the communication system. The communication system includes at least one transceiver pair. At least the a first transceiver of the transceiver pair includes a first analog from end and a first shaping filter coupled with the analog front end. The first analog front end at least includes a programmable gain amplifier. The attenuation of the first shaping filter in the overlapping frequency range is higher than the attenuation in the non-overlapping frequency range.
