    摘要: A vehicle detection and classification sensor provides accurate 3D profiling and classification of highway vehicles for speeds up to 100 mph. A scanning time-of-flight laser rangefinder is used to measure the distance to the highway from a fixed point above the road surface and then measure the distance to the surfaces of any vehicle that is viewed by the sensor. The beam is pulsed at a high repetition rate for determining vehicle speeds with a high accuracy and uses the calculated speed and consecutive range measurements as the vehicle moves past the sensor to develop a three-dimensional profile of the vehicle. An algorithm is applied to the three-dimensional profile for providing a vehicle-classification. A laser is also used to count the number of axles associated with the vehicle.

    摘要: In a shift clock signal generating apparatus, a delay line includes a plurality of unit delay elements connected in cascade. A reference clock signal propagates in the delay line while being successively delayed by the unit delay elements. Switches have first ends connected with output terminals of the unit delay elements respectively, and second ends connected with a shift clock signal output path. When specified one among the switches is in its on position, a delayed clock signal which results from delaying the reference clock signal by a prescribed time interval is transmitted via the specified switch to the shift clock signal output path as a shift clock signal. The specified one among the switches is determined on the basis of data representing a phase difference of the shift clock signal from the reference clock signal. The specified switch is set in its on position.

    摘要: A three-dimensional imaging range finder is disclosed using a transmitted pulse reflected from a target. The range finder includes a pixel sensor for receiving light from the target and the reflected pulse. A global counter is provided for determining a time-of-flight value of the transmitted pulse. A processing circuit, which is coupled to the pixel sensor and the global counter, extracts the reflected pulse received by the pixel sensor, and stores the time-of-flight value upon extracting the reflected pulse. The pixel sensor provides a luminance signal and the processing circuit includes a high pass filter to extract the reflected pulse from the luminance signal.

    摘要: A method is described for detecting the distance between a measuring device comprising a transmitter and a receiver and an object, in which a modulated light signal is emitted by the transmitter in the direction of the object, the light signal reflected at the object is received by the receiver and is converted into a reflection signal, and the distance between the measuring device and the object is determined from the light transit time of the light signal received. In addition to the light signal reflected at the object, at least a part of the light signal emitted is received as a reference light signal by a receiver without reflection at the object and is converted into a reference signal. Subsequently the phase shift between the reflection signal and the reference signal is determined for the determination of the light transit time. Moreover, a distance measuring device working in accordance with the method of the invention is described.
