Abstract:
The invention describes biomarkers which can be used to predict the likelihood that an individual will develop Diabetes. The biomarkers can also be used to screen large groups in order to identify individuals at risk of developing Diabetes.
Abstract:
A method for providing a personalized health risk of a patient includes receiving training data corresponding to a plurality of patients and target data corresponding to a target patient; generating model data based on the training data according to an anomaly detection method; either determining whether the target data is anomalous with respect to the training data, or determining the extent to which the target data is anomalous with respect to the training data; and either indicating whether the target patient is at risk of the adverse outcome, or indicating the extent to which the target patient is at risk of the adverse outcome.
Abstract:
A method employing pattern recognition techniques for identifying the functional status of patients with Pulmonary Hypertension is described. This method describes a process by which sets of cardiopulmonary exercise gas exchange variables are measured during rest, exercise and recovery and stored as unique data sets. The data sets are then analyzed by a series of feature extraction steps, yielding a multi-parametric index (MPIPH) which reflects the current functional status of a patient. The method also employs a description scheme that provides a graphical image that juxtaposes the measured value of MPI to a reference classification system. An additional description scheme provides a trend plot of MPI values measured on a patient over time to provide feedback to the physician on the efficacy of therapy provided to the patient. The method will enable physicians to gather, view, and track complicated data using well-understood visualization techniques to better understand the consequences of their therapeutic actions.

Abstract:
The invention relates to the determination of the clinical state of a subject. A respective adaptive transform is applied to at least one measurement signal acquired from the subject, each adaptive transform being dependent on previously acquired history data, and a diagnostic index is formed, which is dependent on the transformed measurement signal(s) and serves as a measure of the clinical state of the subject. In order to reliably evaluate the clinical state of a subject on a fixed diagnostic scale during changes in the state of the subject, some or all of the previously acquired history data on which an adaptive transform is currently dependent is replaced with other previously acquired history data when a predetermined event is detected. The predetermined event is indicative of a change in the respective measurement signal, and the introduction of the said other previously acquired history data sets the transform ready for the change.
Abstract:
The monitoring device incorporates transducing devices for converting the desired measured parameters into electrical signals capable of being processed by a local computer or microprocessor system. The device interacts with the ambulatory patient and then, via a modem or other electronic communication device, transmits the measured parameters to a computer located at a remote site. At the remote location. the various indicia of the ambulatory patient's condition are monitored and analyzed by the medical professional caregiver. To provide the ambulatory patient with an added level of convenience and ease of use, such monitoring device is contained in a single integrated package.

Abstract:
An apparatus and method for monitoring a system or patient to provide information regarding the status of the system. The apparatus comprises a means of transforming measured values of more than one parameter of the system using a function dependent on at least baseline and critical values of the parameters. The apparatus further includes mapping means for mapping the function to a sequence of reference values and generating a deviation indicator for each parameter. The deviation indicators are analyzed by an analyzer to generate information concerning the status of the system or patient.
Abstract:
Medical conditions of a plurality of remotely located patients are monitored, diagnosed, prioritized and treated using a central data processing system configured to communicate with and receive data from a plurality of respective patient monitoring systems. Patient monitoring systems are capable of receiving and storing patient data and may include a medicine dosage algorithm for using the stored patient data to generate medicine dosage recommendations to a patient. A central data processing system is configured to obtain patient data from each patient monitoring system and analyze the obtained patient data to identify medical conditions of each respective patient. A central data processing system may include medicine dosage algorithms. Identified patient medical conditions for each respective patient are displayed in selectable, prioritized order according to medical severity via one or more remotely located clients in communication with a central data processing system. Modifications to medicine dosages, medicine dosage algorithms, patient fixed or contingent self-monitoring schedules, as well as other treatment information, may be communicated directly to a patient or to a patient monitoring system.
