A valve is located in the bypass conduit which has an inlet leading from the upper section of the tank (where gas collects) and an outlet joining the outlet pipe leading from the homogenizing unit downstream of metering apparatus.

The apparatus for conditioning flow in a pipe, in accordance with the present invention, includes a centrally disposed hub with a plurality of angled members attached to the hub on at a first end portion of the angled members. The angled members include a second end portion extending radially outward from the hub. The second end portion of the angled members is attached to a ring such that the plurality of angled members cause a fluid to swirl within the pipe to condition a flow in the pipe.

The container serves for mixing and measuring multi-phase fluids which are conducted in via a supply tube. The liquid and gaseous components are separated in the container and collected into a liquid volume as well as a gas volume. A liquid surface forms at the separating layer between the gas volume and the liquid volume, the actual height of which is measured by a sensor. The fluids located in the container are drawn back off out of the container in the direction of flow in a flowing manner via a removal apparatus which comprises at least one removal apparatus as well as a drainage means adjoining it and are thereupon mixed. The drainage means is arranged vertical to the liquid surface and has openings which lie partly below and partly above the liquid surface during normal operation of the container. The drainage means has a Venturi nozzle in the region of the inlet opening in order to measure the flow rate of the gaseous component which flows through the inlet opening into the drainage means. A pressure sensor is mounted in the region of the gas volume in order to measure the pressure of the gaseous component. A signal evaluation apparatus which receives the measured values calculates a total flow rate, a flow rate of the liquid components, as well as a flow rate of the gaseous components from the measured values.

Net oil production from a low volume high watercut well or other source of a water-oil mixture is accurately metered with systems which include a separator vessel which allows a water-oil mixture to collect and form a separate oil layer on top of the water and which has liquid level sensors and an oil detector which measures the presence of an oil layer. The sensors are arranged in such a way with associated control circuits so that the vessel does not discharge oil until a significant accumulation of an oil layer occurs in the vessel. The systems each include a liquid discharge conduit and a motor operated control valve connected to a logic circuit which receives signals from the level sensors and the oil detector to provide cyclic operation of the valve to discharge water from the vessel repeatedly until a relatively large quantity of oil collects and then discharges all of the oil prior to resumption of the operating cycle.

The metering assembly for a tank truck/trailer comprises a number of elements including an air eliminator vessel, legs and brackets for mounting the air eliminator vessel in a compartment of the tank truck/trailer, a pump mounted in the compartment and a fluid connection between the pump and the air eliminator vessel. A hose is also provided connected to the pump and is adapted to be inserted into an outside receptacle containing liquid for supplying or withdrawing liquid to or from the receptacle. A flow meter is fluidly coupled to the air eliminator vessel and a mounting bracket is provided for mechanically mounting the flow meter to the eliminator vessel. The flow meter has an outlet coupled to the tank of the tank truck. A strainer is provided for straining liquid pumped to or from the receptacle prior to the delivery of the liquid to or from the tank of the tank truck/trailer. A frequency scaling board is coupled to the flow meter and a printer is coupled to the frequency scaling board for printing out the amount of liquid received into or from the tank from or to the outside receptacle.
