    摘要: A device is provided for holding and releasing a missile within a canister. The device includes a housing attached to the canister, a latch mechanism extending from the housing into the canister, a tension applier disposed in the housing to restrain the missile in the canister, a release mechanism disposed on the housing, an interface mechanism and a compression applier. The tension applier forces the latch mechanism against the housing to withdraw from the missile. The interface mechanism initially couples the release mechanism and the tension applier. The compression applier anchors to the interface mechanism and forces the latch mechanism against the housing to engage the missile and counteract said tension applier. On command, the release mechanism disengages from the housing to release the compression applier from the interface mechanism. This action enables the tension applier to withdraw the latch mechanism from the missile.

    摘要: A system and method for a packaging system for the shipment of high explosive components is described. One or more explosive devices are positioned in a tubing assembly having opposed ends and a thick wall of relatively low-density fibrous material, e.g. rolled paper tube. An impact absorbing element is positioned at each end of the tube. The impact absorbing element may include an end cap positioned within each end of the tube, and a cushion formed of partial tubes and an end cap. The complete assembly is sized to fit and be held in position by a standard shipping container. Multiple perforating charges in a tubing assembly may face opposite sides of a charge divider. Shaped charges may have their concave openings filled with a jet interrupter, e.g. sand. Circular charges may include heat releasable fasteners, e.g. nylon screws, which allow the charges to separate in case of fire.

    摘要: The device for forwarding large-caliber shells to a heavy weapon, especially in an armored howitzer, wherein the shells are laid in a readiness tray that can be displaced horizontally along a forwarding path and the mechanism on the readiness tray axially brakes and fixes any shell laid therein. A shell support supports the shell in the vicinity of its ogive. The shell support is mounted on a supporting-lever rod in the form of an articulated-lever system that can be lowered against the force of a spring. The system's descent can be blocked by a locking mechanism. The blocking mechanism is provided with a pawl at one end of the system's second supporting lever. The pawl engages a notched rod that can be raised and lowered. The upward and downward motions of the rod are controlled by a skate that travels over a control strip while the tray is being displaced. The strip is positioned stationary below the tray.

    摘要: An autoloading method and apparatus is disclosed for a turret mounted gun that is pivoted horizontally relative to the turret and must be lowered to a substantially horizontal 0.degree. position for loading selected cartridges from a magazine conveyor, ejecting empty cartridge cases and misfired cartridges from the gun and turret, assisting in replenishing cartidges from outside the turret into the magazine, and off-loading cartridges from the magazine. A partition divides the turret into two compartments with a gunner and a commander located in one compartment and the mechanical components of the autoloader and breech of the gun located in the other compartment. When the gun is returned to the 0.degree. position for ejecting an empty case, the site of the director system remains on target. The turret is preferably mounted on a military land vehicle.

    摘要: A projectile holding apparatus or rack includes a plurality of spring-biased steel bands for securing a plurality of projectiles in the rack. Each of the securing steel bands may be individually moved to release or secure projectiles disposed within corresponding projectile storage tubes. The steel bands include a part to at least partially spiral around a projectile such that projectiles of different lengths may be accommodated. A gang control may be used for simultaneously locking and unlocking the projectiles within the projectile storage tubes. The gang control is further operable to move all of the securing bands from their releasing positions to their securing positions.

    摘要: A submarine weapon handling system and method includes a storage tray, ramming tray, and transfer tray. Each tray has a plurality of rotatable bands received in grooves in the trays and are movable between an open weapon receiving position and a closed weapon clamping position. The storage tray and ramming tray are stationary and the transfer tray is movable. The transfer tray is moved into contact with a weapon secured in the storage tray, the bands of the transfer tray are rotated around the weapon, and the bands in the storage tray are rotated from closed to open position permitting the transfer tray to move a selected weapon into the bands of the ramming tray which are then rotated into weapon clamping position while the bands of the transfer tray are opened permitting the transfer tray to be moved away from the ramming tray.
