Abstract:
In a method for conditioning a compressor airflow in an axial compressor which comprises in a coaxial arrangement a central rotor and stator surrounding said rotor, an airflow is sucked in at an entrance and is compressed on the way to an exit, whereby the sucked-in airflow is a combination of a main flow and boundary flow which flows adjacent to the inner wall of the stator. Cooling air is taken from the boundary flow at an outlet which is located before the exit. A temperature of the cooling air is reduced in a simple an effective way by injecting water into the boundary flow between the entrance and the outlet. The injected water cools down the boundary flow by evaporation.
Abstract:
A static shroud for ducting an axial gas flow past an array of blades rotating about an axis, made of a sheet of metal bent to form a contiguous shroud body having a substantially uniform sheet thickness and a uniform axial profile, initiating with an upstream flange flowing into a tip clearance portion and terminating in a downstream flange.
Abstract:
A gas turbine, a combined cycle plant and compressor by which both augmentation of the power output and augmentation of the thermal efficiency can be realized by injecting liquid droplets into inlet air introduced into an entrance of a compressor with simple equipment which is suitable for practical use. The gas turbine includes a compressor for taking in and compressing gas, a combustor in which fuel is combusted with the gas discharged from the compressor, and a turbine driven by the combusted gas of the combustor. The gas turbine further includes a liquid droplet injection device provided on the upstream side of the compressor for injecting liquid droplets into inlet air to be supplied into the entrance of the compressor to lower the temperature of the inlet air to be introduced into the compressor so that the injected liquid droplets may be evaporated while flowing through the compressor.
Abstract:
A side-channel compressor includes a rotor having transport blades, and an injection nozzle for introducing a cooling liquid into a transport section of the compressor. Damage to the transport blades by droplets of liquid can be avoided by the providing the injection nozzle at the part of the compressor housing forming the side channel. The injection nozzle directs the coolant into a side channel space which is free of the transport blades.
Abstract:
A pressure difference of liquid is generated between an upper end and a lower end of a thread groove by the action of a thread groove pump formed between the thread groove and a lower end wall portion of a rotating rotor shaft. As a result, liquid of a bottom space is sucked up and passes through a hollow hole and is discharged to the outside of the rotor shaft through communication holes. The discharged liquid passes through the inside of a hub of a rotating body and reaches an extension member where it is sprayed radially in the form of droplets from a protrusion. The droplets are received by a partition wall. Due to the presence of a protrusion in an upper portion of the partition wall, the droplets cannot cross over the partition wall. The accumulated liquid drops through a communication hole to the bottom space.
Abstract:
There is provided a turbocharger bearing housing having no necessity to use a core and capable of achieving cost reduction. A bearing housing of a turbocharger contains a shaft connecting a turbine and a compressor and turnably supports the shaft. The bearing housing of the turbocharger is divided into a turbine-side housing disposed at a turbine side and a compressor-side housing disposed at a compressor side. The turbine-side housing and the compressor-side housing is subjected to machining to thereby form a cooling water passage for supplying cooling water and a lubricating oil passage for supplying lubricating oil.
Abstract:
The present disclosure relates to a diffuser for a radial compressor. The diffuser may comprise a diffusor duct portion formed by first and second side walls that are arranged so as to diverge at least partially from one another in a direction of flow, a blade ring having a number of blades arranged at least partially in the diffusor duct portion with each blade having a pressure side and a suction side delimited by a blade leading edge and by a blade trailing edge of the respective blade, a number of pressure equalizing openings incorporated into at least one of the first and second side walls of the diffuser duct portion in a region where the first and second side walls diverge from one another with each of the pressure equalizing openings being arranged between the pressure side of one blade and the suction side of an adjacent blade of the blade ring, and a first annular duct arranged behind the pressure equalizing openings and fluidically connected to the diffuser duct portion via at least two of the pressure equalizing openings, such that a number of regions between two adjacent blades of the blade ring in the diffuser duct portion are fluidically connectable together.
Abstract:
An axial compressor that can remove an attachment within a groove of a casing and recover an effect of suppressing stall on rotor blades, and a gas turbine provided with the axial compressor, are provided. The axial compressor includes a compressor body 6 and a sprayer 9 for spraying droplets in suction gas of the compressor body 6 so that the droplets are introduced into the compressor body 6 and evaporate. The compressor body 6 includes a casing 11, a rotor 12, rotor blades 13, and stator vanes 14. A groove 21 is formed in an inner circumferential surface of the casing 11 so as to be positioned around rotor blades 13 arranged on a front stage side. A purge system 23 is provided that supplies high-pressure air to the groove 21 through communication holes 22.
