    摘要: A heat engine comprises a first displacing piston and a second displacing piston, wherein a surface of the first displacing piston and a surface of the second displacing piston that face each other limit a working space that is filled with a working gas. The two heat exchanger arrangements are arranged in the working space between the first displacing piston and the second displacing piston, each heat exchanger arrangement comprising a heat source and a heat sink. The working gas flows through or circulates around each of the two heat exchanger arrangements. The first displacing piston, and the second displacing piston, and/or the heat exchanger arrangements are rotatably mounted with respect to an axis. Measures are provided for counteracting against a circular motion of the working gas around the axis relative to the heat exchanger arrangements.

    摘要: Axially protruding, centrally cooled pistons rotate around a stationary rotation axis within a cylindrical main chamber. Hinged to each piston is a slider in a radial guide that is steadily rotating around another offset stationary rotation axis. As the pistons are individually accelerated and decelerated via the guides, sliders and hinges, rotating volumes between them angularly expand and contract. Inlets and outlets communicate fluid in correspondence with expansion and contraction phases of the rotating volumes. A low number of moving parts, area sealed volumes, no valves, substantially no dead volume, balanced mass forces, smooth rotation and short force transmission paths between opposing mass forces provide for lightweight construction and high rotational speeds. The sliders may be secondary pistons radial modulating secondary rotating volumes adjacent the main chamber for a dual stage thermodynamically efficient operation with intermittent fluid cooling or heating.

    摘要: According to one embodiment of the invention, an engine system comprises a housing, an outer gerotor, an inner gerotor, a tip inlet port, a face inlet port, and a tip outlet port. The housing has a first sidewall, a second sidewall, a first endwall, and a second endwall. The outer gerotor is at least partially disposed in the housing and at least partially defines an outer gerotor chamber. The inner gerotor is at least partially disposed within the outer gerotor chamber. The tip inlet port is formed in the first sidewall and allows fluid to enter the outer gerotor chamber. The face inlet port is formed in the first endwall and allows fluid to enter the outer gerotor chamber. The tip outlet port is formed in the second sidewall and allows fluid to exit the outer gerotor chamber.

A restraining pin (60) assists in locating the seals in the seal grooves (63) and also closes a pressure escape path for the combustion gases. The piston further includes means to allow liquid coolant to pass through the pivot shaft, through liquid cooling galleries in the piston and out of the pivot shaft.
