摘要: A single pass, large bore transseptal crossing catheter system is disclosed. An elongate, flexible tubular body has a proximal end, a distal end and an electrically conductive sidewall defining a central lumen. An insulation layer surrounds the sidewall and leaves exposed a first distal electrode tip. An inner conductive wire is provided, having a second distal electrode tip. The inner wire is axially movably extendable through the central lumen. A tubular insulation layer is provided in between the wire and the electrically conductive sidewall.

摘要: An apparatus includes a shaft assembly and an electrode assembly at a distal end of the shaft assembly. The electrode assembly includes a first conductive segment extending along a first angular range at the distal end of the shaft assembly. The first conductive segment is operable to apply RF energy to tissue at a first polarity. The electrode assembly further includes a second conductive segment angularly spaced apart from the first conductive segment. The second conductive segment extends along a second angular range at the distal end of the shaft assembly. The second conductive segment is operable to apply RF energy to tissue at a second polarity such that the first and second conductive segments are operable to apply bipolar RF energy to tissue.

The surgical tool has a first configuration wherein the surgical tool operates as forceps. The surgical tool has a second configuration wherein the surgical tool operates as scissors. The first internal surface can be moved adjacent to the second internal surface to permit rotation of the first tip relative to the first recess and permit rotation of the second tip relative to the second recess. The rotation of the first tip and the second tip transitions the surgical tool between the first configuration and the second configuration.

The handle includes an actuator rotatable about an actuator pivot pin and a cam connected to the actuator and rotatable in tandem with the actuator. The surgical instrument further includes an actuator rod having a distal end connected to the surgical tool and a proximal end connected to the cam. The cam defines a slot which captures a portion of the actuator rod. The portion of the actuator rod captured in the slot is slidable within the slot as the cam rotates. Sliding of the portion of the actuator rod in the slot actuates the surgical tool.

摘要: Retrieval of material from vessel lumens can be improved by electrically enhancing attachment of the material to the removal device. The removal device can have a core assembly that includes a hypotube coupled to a first electrical terminal and a pushwire coupled to a second electrical terminal, the pushwire extending through the hypotube lumen. An insulating layer separates the hypotube and the pushwire, and an interventional element is coupled to a distal end of the pushwire. The interventional element can be disposed adjacent to a thrombus. An electrical signal is delivered to the interventional element to promote adhesion of the thrombus to the interventional element. The electrical signal can optionally be a periodic waveform, and the total energy delivered can be between 0.75-24,000 mJ and the peak current delivered via the electrical signal can be between 0.5-5 mA.

The apparatus (1) further comprises a vacuum chamber (9) behind the base plate (13) and inside of the housing of the handpiece, which is in fluid communication with the at least one through hole (17) provided in the base plate (13) for exerting attraction onto a surface (33) of the skin tissue towards the at least one first electrode (11) and towards the at least one second electrode (15), when the first electrode (11) and the at least one second electrode (15) is placed in proximity of or is touching the surface (33) of the tissue.
