Abstract: Disclosed are methods for optimized capability signaling by a user equipment (UE). For the same level of control on the UE side in combining a previous release-N and a new release N+m, the UE should be able to utilize the existing signaling in release N together with the signaling in release N+m. Otherwise, if the UE only utilizes release N+m, the UE will be unable to have the benefit of the same level of control that was provided in release N.

Abstract: A method may include sending a contention resolution message for a random access procedure from a user equipment (UE) through a physical uplink channel in a wireless communication network, and sending a repetition of the contention resolution message from the UE through the physical uplink channel. The physical uplink channel may include a physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH). The method may further include selecting a preamble from a first preamble group corresponding to a capability of the UE to send the repetition of the contention resolution message, and sending the preamble from the UE. Selecting the preamble from the first preamble group may include selecting a preamble from a first preamble sub-group corresponding to the capability of the UE to send the repetition of the contention resolution message.

Abstract: Methods and apparatuses are provided for monitoring a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH). A first time gap is set from an end of the PDCCH to a beginning of a physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH). A second time gap is set from an end of the PDSCH to a beginning of a physical uplink control channel (PUCCH). A high priority channel and a low priority channel are configured in a PDCCH monitoring span. At least one parameter indicating a minimum amount of additional time required by a user equipment (UE) for processing the low priority channel, is received from the UE. Based on the at least one parameter, the UE is configured with at least one offset used to increase at least one of the first time gap and the second time gap.
