    Abstract: A method and an apparatus for performing Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) communication at a network node in a wireless communication system are provided. The method includes receiving, by the network node that connects between a Mobile Station (MS) and a data network, a TCP KeepAlive packet for maintaining a TCP connection established between a correspondent node and the MS through the data network from the correspondent node, transmitting, by the network node, when it is determined that the MS is in an idle mode upon receiving the TCP KeepAlive packet, an acknowledgement packet in response to the TCP KeepAlive packet to the correspondent node, and transmitting, by the network node, indication information indicating the reception of the TCP KeepAlive packet to the MS.

Provided are a method and apparatus for reducing the page load time in a wireless communication system. The method for page loading in a mobile terminal may include: selecting, when a page is visited, a candidate page to be pre-inspected with respect to the page; performing pre-inspection of the candidate page and determining types of objects associated with the candidate page; generating tree information for the candidate page based on a result of the determination; and computing the loading time of the candidate page based on the tree information and determining download priorities of objects that are to be downloaded when the candidate page is visited.

A method and apparatus of dynamically operating a bearer in a wireless communication system is provided. The bearer operating method of an evolved Node B (eNodeB) includes: setting a dynamic bear for user equipment (UE) where a bit rate is dynamically adjustable; receiving a report message, including channel status and/or video buffer status of the UE, from the UE; determining a modified bit rate to be applied to the dynamic bearer and time information to which the modified bit rate is applied; and transmitting the modified bit rate and the time information to the UE.
