    Abstract: A display device includes a first substrate, a wire pad in a pad area, first banks in a display area, electrodes on the first banks, a pad electrode base layer on the wire pad, having a greater width than the wire pad, and covering sides of the wire pad, a first insulating layer covering parts of the electrodes and part of the pad electrode base layer, light-emitting elements on the first insulating layer in the display area, respective ends of the light-emitting elements being on different electrodes, contact electrodes on the electrodes and contacting first ends of the light-emitting elements, and a pad electrode upper layer on the first insulating layer in the pad area and directly contacting the pad electrode base layer, wherein the pad electrode base layer includes the same material as the electrodes, and the pad electrode upper layer includes the same material as the contact electrodes.

    Abstract: A liquid crystal display is provided. The liquid crystal display includes a first display substrate, a second display substrate which faces the first display substrate, and a liquid crystal layer which is disposed between the first display substrate and the second display substrate. The first display substrate comprises a first base substrate, a reflective electrode which is disposed on the first base substrate, and a pixel electrode which is disposed on the reflective electrode. The second display substrate comprises a second base substrate, a color filter layer which comprises a first color filter disposed on a surface of the second base substrate which faces the first base substrate and a second color filter configured to display a different color from the first color filter, a protruding pattern which is formed on a surface of the color filter layer facing the first base substrate and which extends along a boundary between the first color filter and the second color filter, and reflective members which are disposed on sidewalls of the protruding pattern.

    Abstract: A method of manufacturing a liquid crystal display includes: forming a sacrificial layer by stacking a non-photosensitive resin; initiating formation of an etch stop layer on the sacrificial layer; forming a photoresist pattern; completing the etch stop layer using the photoresist pattern; ashing the photoresist pattern and the sacrificial layer by using the completed etch stop layer as a mask; forming a microcavity by removing the sacrificial layer; and forming a liquid crystal layer in the microcavity. The horizontal area occupied by the sacrificial layer is reduced by forming the common electrode or the etch stop layer at an upper side, thereby increasing the aperture ratio. Further, the vertical electric field is generated without distortion by horizontally forming the common electrode on the sacrificial layer and forming no common electrode on the sidewall thereof.

    Abstract: Provided are a display device and a manufacturing method thereof capable of preventing deformation of a microcavity and stably injecting an aligning agent and a liquid crystal.
