    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may be configured to generate a set of data packets that are to be transmitted to a base station, where each data packet of the set of data packets is associated with a respective packet expiration time. The UE may transmit an indication of packet expiration information associated with the set of data packets, where the packet expiration information is based on a set of packet expiration times associated with the set of data packets. The UE may receive, from the base station, scheduling information associated with at least a subset of the set of data packets, where the scheduling information is based on the packet expiration information. The UE may then transmit at least one data packet of the subset data packets to the base station in accordance with the scheduling information.

    Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media, for signaling mechanisms associated with reporting information associated with multiple beam failure indicator (BFI) types via a beam failure detection (BFD) report. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may measure a periodic reference signal as part of a BFD procedure and may report a BFI if the UE measures that the reference signal fails to satisfy a threshold signal strength or quality. The UE may further detect or classify each reported BFI as one of multiple BFI types and may store information associated with respective numbers of the multiple BFI types in accordance with the detection or classification. In scenarios in which the UE declares beam failure, the UE may transmit a BFD report including the information associated with the respective numbers of the multipole BFI types.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A user equipment or a base station may use the techniques described herein to report one or more beam failures and subsequently determine the reason the beam failures have occurred (e.g., interference or noise). For example, the UE may transmit information to the base station that is related to the beam failure in addition to a beam failure indication. In some cases, the UE may indicate the reason the beam failure occurred. Because the base station may factor in the reason when selecting and indicating new beams for communicating with the UE, the likelihood that beam failure will occur again may decrease.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described for autonomous block error rate (BLER) threshold determination fur use in beam failure indication (BFI) procedures. A user equipment (UE) that is capable of autonomously determining a BLER threshold value may provide an indication of the capability to a base station. The base station may provide configuration information that enables the UE to perform autonomous BLER threshold determination, and the UE may determine the BLER threshold value based on the configuration information. The UE may determine that a BFI has occurred based on the determined BLER threshold, and thereby enhance beam failure detection procedures to provide more efficient and reliable communications.

    Abstract: A transmitter may be configured to determine a coding rate at which to encode data packets based on a quantity of encoded packets used by a receiver for recovery of one data packet. The transmitter may be further configured to transmit a set of encoded packets generated at the coding rate to the receiver. The receiver may be configured to receive, from the transmitter, encoded packets carrying a set of data packets encoded at a coding rate. The receiver may be further configured to transmit, to the transmitter, feedback indicating a quantity of a set of the encoded packets used for recovery of one data packet of the set of data packets.     Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A base station and user equipment (UE) may support network coded communications on a sidelink connection. The base station may configure UEs with network coding configurations. The network coding configuration may include one or more sets of network coding parameters. The base station may configure a first UE to send network coded information on the sidelink to a second UE. The network coded information may be generated based on data packets which were unsuccessfully decoded by the second UE. By transmitting network coded information on a sidelink, the second UE may efficiently obtain data packets which were unsuccessfully decoded from the base station.
