Abstract:
A first apparatus may be implemented as a user equipment (UE) or a component thereof. The first apparatus may be configured to receive a pre-grant message from a base station on a wireless channel. The first apparatus may be further configured to determine an interference level associated with the wireless channel. The first apparatus may then indicate the interference level to the base station in response to the pre-grant message. A second apparatus may be implemented as a base station or a component thereof. The second apparatus may be configured to transmit a pre-grant message to a UE on a wireless channel. The second apparatus may be further configured to detect for an acknowledgement (ACK) message responsive to the pre-grant message from the UE. The second apparatus may then determine an interference level associated with the wireless channel proximate to the UE based on detecting for the ACK message.
Abstract:
The present disclosure discloses apparatuses, systems, and methods of wireless communication that use an adaptive hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) procedure and a multi-threaded HARQ procedure for improving HARQ buffer utilization and management. A user equipment (UE) can transmit a reset NACK to reduce the amount of HARQ buffers needed for concurrent HARQ processes. A base station can transmit different redundancy data in a HARQ retransmission depending on the types of NACK the UE transmitted. The base station can communicate with the UE using multiple light HARQ processes or threads that use less HARQ buffers than a typical HARQ procedure. Other aspects, features, and embodiments are also claimed and described.
Abstract:
Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide a method for wireless communications by a user equipment (UE). The method determines resources to monitor for beam failure detection (BFD) when the UE is in a mode of operation involving at least first and second transmitter receiver points (TRPs). The method then detects a beam failure based on monitoring of the determined resources. The method further triggers a beam failure recovery (BFR) procedure based on the detection.
Abstract:
For unlicensed high-frequency bands such as mmW bands as used in 5G NR communications, either by regulation or for coexistence with licensed frequency bands, there may be a need for a contention-based access procedure such as the LBT procedure. A challenge is to find a suitable sensing beam to functions as a proxy for a set of transmission beams. In an aspect of the disclosure, a method and an apparatus are provided. The apparatus is configured to determine a set of transmission beams for a transmission opportunity, determine a sensing beam for the set of transmission beams based on a set of beam sensing criteria; and initiate an LBT procedure by sensing an energy on the determined sensing beam. The apparatus may then use the LBT procedure to obtain the access to and transmit data on the determined set of transmission beams.
Abstract:
Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may determine a first hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) process identifier set associated with a first configured scheduling process and may determine a second HARQ process identifier set associated with a second configured scheduling process. The UE may assign an HARQ process identifier, included in the first HARQ process identifier set, to a process instance associated with the first configured scheduling process and may assign an HARQ process identifier, included in the second HARQ process identifier set, to a process instance associated with the second configured scheduling process. Numerous other aspects are provided.
Abstract:
Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive, from a first transmit receive point (TRP), a downlink control information (DCI) communication, the UE being included in a multi-TRP configuration with the first TRP and a second TRP. The UE may determine information unique to the first TRP. The information unique to the first TRP may be at least one of associated with the DCI communication or included in the DCI communication. The UE may generate a downlink scrambling sequence initialization code, associated with the first TRP, based at least in part on the information unique to the first TRP. The UE may generate a downlink scrambling sequence, associated with the first TRP, based at least in part on the downlink scrambling sequence initialization code associated with the first TRP. Numerous other aspects are provided.
Abstract:
Methods and apparatus for communication comprise aspects that include performing a power management procedure for configuring a subset of network entities to receive one or more of downlink signal measurements and/or one or more uplink signal measurements. The methods and apparatus further comprise aspects that include storing the one or more one or more of downlink signal measurements and/or one or more uplink signal measurements associated with the subset of network entities at a database for managing transmit power at the subset of network entities. Moreover, the methods and apparatus comprise aspects that include adjusting a transmit power value of at least one of the subset of network entities from a first transmit power value to a second transmit power value based at least in part on the one or more of downlink signal measurements and/or one or more uplink signal measurements.
Abstract:
Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for determining if a first sensing beam is eligible for use in channel sensing by a device under test (DUT) for at least a first transmission beam, generally including evaluating the first sensing beam against eligibility criterion based on measurement of sensing gain for the first sensing beam in multiple directions and declaring the first sensing beam eligible for channel sensing for the first transmission beam when the first sensing beam satisfies the eligibility criterion.
Abstract:
Wireless communications systems and methods related to accessing a channel based on an interference condition in a wireless communication network are provided. For example, a method of wireless communication performed by a wireless communications device may include receiving, from a second wireless communication device, one or more signals associated with a beam parameter, determining, at each of a plurality of locations, a signal measurement for at least one received signal of the one or more received signals, and determining, based at least in part on a cumulative distribution of the signal measurements at the plurality of locations and a reference probability distribution, whether the second wireless communication device satisfies an interference condition. Other features are also claimed and described.
Abstract:
This disclosure provides systems, methods and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media, for a user equipment (UE) to provide listen before talk (LBT) assistance to a transmitting device. The UE may receive a pre-grant (PG) indicating a plurality of beams. The UE may performing a LBT procedure on each beam of the indicated plurality of beams. The UE may transmit an acknowledgment to the pre-grant (APG) as a waveform that indicates that the LBT procedure for one or more of the indicated plurality of beams was successful. The waveform may be a sounding reference signal (SRS) with a sequence that indicates that the LBT procedure was successful.
