Abstract:
Various embodiments include methods performed on a wireless communication device for facilitating cell global identity (CGI) measurements when a call is underway using a first wireless communication technology (e.g., LTE) and the CGI measurement is to be conducted on a cell supporting a second wireless communication technology. A processor of the wireless communication device may perform power scans of a plurality of neighboring cells supporting the second communication technology, and select one of the plurality of neighboring cells based on the power scans. The processor may conduct a CGI measurement of the selected neighboring cell, and report measurement results to the wireless network. The processor of the wireless communication device may store a history of CGI measurement and/or camping on cells of the second communication technology, and use the stored information when power scans of neighboring cells yield similar results.
Abstract:
Examples described herein relate to systems and methods for a wireless communication device to manage cell measurements, including, but not limited to, performing measurements based on a first measurement configuration message received from a network, receiving a second measurement configuration message from the network before the measurements based on the first measurement configuration message are completed, and continuing to perform measurements based on the first measurement configuration message after receiving the second measurement configuration message.
Abstract:
Methods, devices, and systems of various embodiments are disclosed for managing an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) charging station having a docking terminal. In various embodiments, a priority of a first UAV and a second UAV may be determined for using the docking terminal when a docking request is received from the second UAV while the first UAV occupies the docking terminal. In some embodiments, the priorities of the first and second UAVs may be based on an available power level of each of the first and second UAVs. The first UAV may be instructed to undock from the docking terminal in response to determining that the second UAV has a higher priority.
Abstract:
Embodiments include systems and methods for managing tune-way in a multi-subscription communication device. A processor of a multi-subscription communication device may determine a first signal strength of a first cell signal and a second signal strength of a second cell signal. The processor may perform a tune-away procedure to a weaker of the first cell signal and the second cell signal. Embodiments may include determining signal strengths of each component carrier of the first cell signal and the second cell signal.
Abstract:
Various embodiments include methods implemented on a mobile communication device for sharing network information among subscriptions when both a first subscription and a second subscription are in an idle mode. The methods may include determining whether the first subscription and the second subscription share a network operator and are camped on a same base station. If so, the first subscription may receive network information from the base station and store the network information in a shared memory of the mobile communication device that can be accessed by the second subscription. The second subscription may then perform some idle mode operations using the network information stored in the shared memory.
Abstract:
Various embodiments implemented on a mobile communication device provide methods for skipping power measurements of frequency bands included in a list of frequency bands received from a first subscription's network to conserve power and to increase the likelihood of avoiding a coexistence event between a first subscription and a second subscription. Specifically, a processor of the mobile communication device may order the list of frequency bands such that non-interfering frequency bands are ordered before interfering frequency bands. The processor may then take power measurements of frequency bands in the list, in order, until the processor determines that a power measurement has satisfied a minimum power threshold. In response to such a determination, the device processor may report the power measurement that satisfies the minimum power threshold to the first subscription's network and may not take any more power measurements of the remaining frequency bands in the list.
Abstract:
A method includes: detecting that a short data packet transmission will be performed on a first subscription over a first time period; determining whether a page reception will be performed on a second subscription during a second time period that includes at least a portion of the first time period; and in response to a determination that the page reception will be performed on the second subscription during the second time period, deferring the short data packet transmission on the first subscription until after the page reception on the second subscription is performed.
Abstract:
A throttling mechanism for downlink transmission control is disclosed, in which, in one aspect, a downlink low data-rate transmission may be received at a user equipment (UE). The UE may then measure a performance metric indicating performance of the downlink low data-rate transmission. The UE controls the downlink low data-rate transmission by dynamically adjusting the number of receiving antennas in use in response to comparison results of the performance metric and a threshold value.
Abstract:
A mobile communication device, includes: a radio frequency (RF) receive chain; a control unit configured to tune the RF receive chain to receive signals from one of a first radio access technology (RAT) and a second RAT different from the first RAT; and a first signal modification unit configured to modify the signals received from the first RAT. The control unit is further configured to suspend operation of the first signal modification unit when the RF receive chain is tuned to receive signals on the second RAT.
Abstract:
The various embodiments provide methods for implementing a forced reselection strategy after causing colliding subscriptions to perform reselection to neighboring cells. In various embodiments, the MSMS communication device may undo the effects of forced reselection in certain situations when continuing to employ forced reselection may be ineffective. In other embodiments, the MSMS communication device may force reselecting subscriptions to reselect to neighboring cells in a paging group based on the page timings of the neighboring cells. Thus, the various embodiments may increase the performance of the colliding subscriptions and may enhance the user's overall experience.
