Abstract: Enhanced inter-RAT and measurement gap operations are disclosed. In one aspect, a device may generate a customized measurement gap for monitoring control signals of another network for inter-RAT procedures. In another aspect, a device may modify, such as extend or shift, a network measurement gap to generate a modified measurement gap for monitoring control signals of another network for inter-RAT procedures. The device may modify the network measurement gap to align the network's measurement gap, such as LTE measurement gap, with a measurement window of another network, such as an SMTC window of a 5G network. Other aspects and features are also claimed and described.

Abstract: A method, a computer-readable medium, and an apparatus may be a User Equipment (UE) having a first subscription to a first RAT and a second subscription to a second RAT configured to operate using the first RAT, to change from operating using the first RAT to operating using the second RAT to monitor multiple Synchronization Signal Blocks (SSBs) at multiple times prior to performing at least one of decoding a paging message, receiving system information, searching a neighboring frequency, or measuring the neighboring frequency, to return to using the first RAT during a first period between at least one set of adjacent times of the multiple times that the UE monitors for the SSBs, and to change from using the first RAT to using the second RAT to receive the paging message, receive the system information, search the neighboring frequency, or measure the neighboring frequency.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described in which a user equipment (UE) may wake up from a sleep mode of a discontinuous reception (DRX) cycle based on receipt of uplink data. The UE may determine if an elapsed time between a prior receipt of one or more reference signals and an uplink transmission to the base station after waking up from the sleep mode is less than a threshold time value. If the elapsed time is less than the threshold time value, the UE may transmit an uplink transmission associated with the received uplink data prior to receiving one or more reference signals that may be used to update transmission parameters for uplink transmissions. If the elapsed time is at or above the threshold value, the UE may wait to receive the one or more reference signals and update the transmission parameters prior to the uplink transmission.

Abstract: Device-to-device operations are scheduled based on receive and transmit pools that may have a conflict in time domain. In an aspect of the disclosure, a method, a computer-readable medium, and an apparatus for resolving time domain conflict in device-to-device communication are provided. The apparatus may compute a first block rate metric for a first device-to-device communication on a first frequency and a second block rate metric for a second device-to-device communication on a second frequency. The apparatus may detect a time-domain conflict between the first device-to-device communication on the first frequency and the second device-to-device communication on the second frequency. The apparatus may prioritize the first device-to-device communication on the first frequency and the second device-to-device communication on the second frequency based on the first block rate metric and the second block rate metric.
