Abstract: Aspects presented herein may improve the efficiency and performance of the tone reservation PAPR reduction technique by allocating peak reduction tone based at least in part on a channel condition, such as based on the signal to noise ratio of the channel. In some aspects, a transmitting device measures a signal to noise ratio for a plurality of tones within a frequency resource. The transmitting device selects a location of one or more reserved tones (e.g., peak reduction tones) among one or more tones based at least in part on an SNR for one or more tones. The transmitting device transmits data to a receiving device in a subset of the plurality of tones that does not include the one or more peak reduction tones. Other aspects and features are also disclosed.

Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment may receive a resource allocation indicating a set of transmission tones comprising a set of data tones and a set of peak reduction tones (PRTs), wherein the resource allocation indicates locations for the set of data tones and locations for the set of PRTs within a particular bandwidth, wherein the locations for the set of PRTs are arranged relative to the locations for the set of data tones according to a PRT sequence, and wherein the PRT sequence comprises a plurality of contiguous PRTs arranged relative to a plurality of contiguous data tones or a pseudo-random pattern generated using a pseudo-random number generator; and transmit a data transmission using a waveform based at least in part on the resource allocation. Numerous other aspects are provided.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A example method for wireless communication at a reconfigurable reflective surface comprises receiving one or more signals from a first wireless device and determining, based at least in part on the one or more signals, measurement information pertaining to a wireless channel between the reconfigurable reflective surface and the first wireless device. The example method may further include determining, based at least in part on the measurement information, a set of weights for a plurality of reflective elements of the reconfigurable reflective surface to be used in reflecting communications between the first wireless device and a second wireless device.

Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may perform measurements of a first plurality of interference measurement resources on a channel from a reconfigurable intelligent surface (RIS) to the UE. The first plurality of interference measurement resources are associated with a plurality of beams. Accordingly, the UE may transmit a first report based at least in part on the measurements of the first plurality of interference measurement resources. The UE may additionally perform measurements of a second plurality of interference measurement resources on the channel from the RIS to the UE. The second plurality of interference measurement resources are associated with a plurality of phases. Accordingly, the UE may transmit a second report based at least in part on the measurements of the second plurality of interference measurement resources. Numerous other aspects are described.

Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive configuration information identifying a set of sub-bands for receiving, via a set of reconfigurable intelligent surfaces (RISs), a signal. The UE may receive, via a first RIS of the set of RISs, the signal in a first sub-band of the set of sub-bands. The UE may receive, via a second RIS of the set of RISs, the signal in a second sub-band of the set of sub-bands. The UE may transmit, based at least in part on receiving the signal, RIS information indicating at least one of: first RIS information regarding the first RIS, or second RIS information regarding the second RIS. Numerous other aspects are described.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may be configured to transmit, to a base station via a reconfigurable surface at a first transmission occasion, a first reference signal associated with a first reflection matrix configuration used by the reconfigurable surface to reflect signals, the first reflection matrix configuration included within a set of reflection matrix configurations. The UE may then transmit, to the base station via the reconfigurable surface at a second transmission occasion, a second reference signal associated with a second reflection matrix configuration used by the reconfigurable surface to reflect signals, the second reflection matrix configuration included within the set of reflection matrix configurations. The may then communicate with the base station via the reconfigurable surface based on transmitting the first reference signal, the second reference signal, or both.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. The described techniques support decoupled uplink and downlink communications via reconfigurable intelligent surfaces. Generally, the described techniques provide for using different passive network nodes for uplink and downlink communications. A user equipment (UE) may receive, from a base station, an indication of a first transmission configuration indicator state for downlink communications with the base station and a second transmission configuration indicator state for uplink communications with the base station. The UE may receive, from the base station via a first passive device (e.g., a first reconfigurable intelligent surface (RIS)) associated with the first transmission configuration indicator state, a downlink message in a radio frame. The UE may transmit, to the base station via a second passive device (e.g., a second RIS) associated with the second transmission configuration indicator state, an uplink message in the radio frame.
