Abstract: Disclosed are techniques for determining locations of reference nodes. In an aspect, an apparatus transmits a request to a first reference node to perform a first round-trip-time (RTT) procedure with a second reference node, determines a first distance between the first reference node and the second reference node based on the RTT procedure, determines relative locations of the first and second reference nodes with respect to each other, and determines absolute locations of the first and second reference nodes from their relative locations based on at least one of the first and second reference nodes having a known absolute location and at least one known angle-of-arrival (AoA) or angle-of-departure (AoD) of at least one reference signal.

Abstract: A two stage scrambling design is provided for generating and decoding Resource Spread Multiple Access (RSMA) modulated streams. A User equipment (UE) scrambles each data stream of a set of data streams using a first scrambling sequence to generate a first set of scrambled data streams, and then scrambles the first set of scrambled data streams using a second scrambling sequence to generate a second set of scrambled data streams, wherein the second scrambling sequence is longer than the first scrambling sequence. The UE then transmits the second set of scrambled data streams. A receiving base station determines the first and second scrambling sequences used by the UE and decodes the transmissions received from the UE based on the determined scrambling sequences.

Abstract: Various aspects described herein relate to distinguishing frequency shift keying (FSK) signals transmitted by each user of multiple users in a wireless communications system. One or more symbols for transmitting in an FSK-modulated signal can be obtained by a user. The one or more symbols can be encoded based on a tone location assignment corresponding to a unique spreading code associated with the user. Quadrature amplitude modulation (QAM) and/or phase-shift keying (PSK) can be performed over at least one tone associated with the encoded symbols. Each user can transmit the encoded symbols to a receiving entity, where the receiving entity can decode each symbol received from the plurality of users to produce a distinguishable symbol for each user based on the unique spreading codes associated with each user.

In other aspects, a UE or mobile entity may detect cell congestion in a first cell and assist the network in offloading congestion from the congested cell. In other aspects, a UE or mobile entity may detect backhaul congestion on a first cell, and assist in offloading backhaul communication for the first cell via a second cell.
